Just got my copy of the movie and watched it. I was completely mesmerized by Alyssa's performance. To see how she conveyed the saddness, guilt, anger of losing a child without words and just her facial and body language was masterful. In the flashback scene of the dinner party, the look of disgust and frustration Alyssa shows towards her husband regarding his drinking was just so in your face, no words were needed. I really wish this film got more mainstream attention, because I think Alyssa would have gotten the critical praise she deserves, but rarely gets, as she gets more praise for her looks.

I loved listening to the comments by the director about Alyssa. He is so proud of her and really sounds amazed that this is the same actress from "WTB". I agreed with him, in having Alyssa play the character as more numb in emotion than overly emotional. I think since he used very little dialogue, if Alyssa was too emotional it would have come across as over acting, and poor acting, to compensate for the lack of dialogue. But her character being "emotionally numb" was the right choice because it shows that she's done all of her crying and is really just dead herself without her daughter and resentful of her husband. I was disappointed she wasn't featured in the "making of" segment, I would have loved to hear her comments on working on the film.

JUST AWESOME!!! Alyssa.

I couldn't agree more The way Alyssa conveyed all the emotion with just a look or a gesture was so much more moving then any dialogue could or would have been. All of Alyssa's true talent is so evident in this movie Like you I just wish it had more exposure.
