OT: reality....can't ask someone out

hey dis is kinda weird to ask but i am so shy dat i can't even tell someone out i totally am afraid dat they reject me and i so don't want em to hate me so what can i do to ask someone out or tell anyone my true feelings about em without getting hurt?

whatever you do DON'T pretend to drop your books and hope that he comes over and helps you pick them up... that only works on the big screen.. belive me, my freind tried it once, and the dude just laughed at her...

OK first point. NEVER try to do something without getting hurt. Never plan something to avoid being hurt, it only makes it worse.
At the end of the day there is NOTHING you can do to avoid it.
All you can do is pluck up the courage to talk to someone and tell them you like them.
Fear of rejection is very common.. and yeah nobody likes it.. well i should hope not lol, but you can't escape it. If they reject you there isn't much you can do about it.
I'm sorry if being so honest hurts but i don't see the point in lying or pretending that you can say to someone "i like you" and they will say in return "Oh i like you too this is perfect". It doesn't work like that.
Things like this do take courage, time and patience.
