OT : Monologue Ideas, Please help!!

Hi guys,

I have this really difficult task coming up in drama its also going to be used for my end of year TEE Drama exam ( which will play a part in determining if I get into University or not) and it is also going to be performed to a paying public audience.

Thing is I have to write it. And ideas arent exactly my friend at the moment, I want to do something serious but with dark cynical humour etc, anyway, does anyone have any ideas? Please help!!

Starting off with some characters isn't a bad idea. Think of what their differences are, and what conflicts might occur between them, who would be friends etc. Start off general, and when you think of something good narrow the story down to that idea. It will take a lot of hacking and slashing, but it might work.
sorry for the vague ideas, but you didn't give a whole lot of detail in what you wanted. Some dark synical humor, but serious, sounds like some people were drinking too much at a party, and things got out of hand.
Another idea might be to read about writing. I don't know what type of library you have, but try to find some books on writing. "The Writer's Journey" is a pretty good one, along with "Aristotle's poetics."
