This guy's really incredible. He uses elements from classical mythology and fairy tales to create a mythos all his own that manages to feel familiar and yet totally new at the same time. His Sandman series for DC comics (Vertigo imprint) was a masterpiece of what I'm sure will turn out to be historical significance. And all of the novels and short stories he's written since have matched or maybe even surpassed it in quality and originality. Anyone who's a fan of fantasy literature, (or just literature in general) who hasn't checked this guy out should do so imo. I think he's one of the best around. Neverwhere, Stardust, and American Gods are his three widely available novels so far...all excellent reading.

Sounds interesting!
I'll check the library and see if I can find him.
Thanks for posting!

Cool, I think most libraries would probably have at least one of his books...hope you enjoy it if you check it out.

BTW, I love your Dumbledore quote...words of true wisdom there..:D
I've avoided opening any of the HP threads on this board for fear of spoilers...I haven't gotten around to reading any of the books, but hope to do so. I've really liked all three movies so I figure the books are probably at least as good.
