Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive

Hey Everyone....

How's it going? It is Sunday afternoon (on the 7th) and I realized that although we sent out an email blast through Safe Searching I did not personally tell everyone about FILTHY RICH: CATTLE DRIVE debuting tonight! 10PM PST on E!

The show is the reality series that I created with Joe Simpson through my company J2. It features children of celebrities (some you probably don't know and some you will) and some children from very wealthy families...DOING a 100 mile cattle drive for charity.

It will be on every Sunday night but it premeires tonight. So make sure you watch it. You can visit my company website www.J2TV.com to get more information on it, etc.

Okay, enough about that...how is everyone? I have been checking in and reading posts off and on for a couple weeks but was unable to log on for a little while to write back. Now it works. HOW COOL is the new Safe Searching site?

We are back to work at 'Malcolm' and the 7th season should be just as funny as the other seasons (if not funnier). We are thinking that this may be....the LAST season!?! I know it will be a great run ending on 7-I mean does anyone really want to see Reese get married and start sprouting gray hairs?

The first episode of 'Malcolm' airs in September and shows the family visiting the Burning Man festival. (sortof like a hippie festival...think woodstock but no concerts) It should be pretty funny. Like always I took it to the extreme and actually joined them- painting my body with paint and jumping around some fire. Make sure you watch!

On a personal level, everything is great. Being off for the summer gave me a great opportunity to hang out with my family and friends alot. My dad and mom are building a house in Mexico so it was cool to watch that process a little. What a different culture- it was really cool!

I also got to travel some and go to some concerts- just normal summer stuff I guess.

Now that I can sign on, I will be back!

Sounds like you've been having a wonderful summer, Justin. One of the best vacations of my life was spent on a dude ranch in Montana and believe me there was no doubt I was a city girl. But it was a blast and one of my fondest memories.

Yeah, the new Safesearching site is really awesome!! Looking forward to season 7 of MITM. The premiere sounds funny and I can imagine Reese getting into all sorts of trouble at the festival. :D It's great it's premiering in September this year instead of November. It's sad to think this may be the final year but it's best to go out on top and like you said, Reese with gray hair? LOL!!

Its good to hear that you are working so hard, it must be difficult to keep to your busy schedule and read posts by all your fans aswell, thats why we have a huge amount of support for you here. :) I should be able to watch your new tv series, hopefully here in Scotland, as the E! channel is on satellite and may be a few weeks later, but it should air here eventually.

It will indeed be sad to see MITM end :( but it has provided us all with solid entertainment and pure fun over the years, it has been a remarkable show. But as you said Reese with grey hair after a while lol. I suppose all good things must come to an end.

I will be looking forward to your new series on the E! channel and its good to hear from you again.

Well At least we got to see Reese acting like a mature person... well... not really... but he started to feel like he was growing up (which scared him to death).

God I'm gonna miss that show sooo bad!!! Here in Colombia I think 5th or 6th season just begun , so I have a little more time to watch it. Your question is perfectly fine, not "dumb". Season One is available on DVD at least in the US (region 1 i think its called) Were still awaiting news on the other seasons. There are problems getting clearances for the music thats used heavily in the show so season two and beyond are on hold 'til thats worked out. Ryebeach can explain it better.

You explained it perfectly jayray. :) When a song is used in a TV Show original broadcast, the music clearance rights are secured from the rights holder for that original broadcast but in days past, they were not also secured for DVD release as TV shows on DVD have just in the last couple of years really taken off. So when any show, MITM included, wants to release a season of their show on DVD, they have to go back to those rights holders and secure the DVD release music clearance rights of that song and on occasion problems ensue. That is also why some popular TV series of years ago that used popular music heavily have yet to be released on DVD. However, Frankie Muniz has said in different articles that it's being worked on so let's keep hoping for future seasons to be released on DVD and I'm sure Justin will let us know if he gets any info about future seasons on DVD. :) I especially would like to see season 2 on DVD as there are still a few episodes from that season that I have yet to see.
