London!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

Hey guys!

So tomorrow is the BIG day!!! I'm so excited! London is gonna be GREAT! Lets see, this is what I have on my agenda so far. I just figured out that the British Museum is 2 blocks from my hotel, and its also free admission too! So I plan on doing that, then perhaps going to see Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, the Tower of London, Kensington Gardens, Wesminster Abbey, the British Airways London Eye (I think thats what its called), and anything else interesting that I can find to do! Oh and of course I want to ride on the top part of a double decker bus! Yes! So my flight leaves tomorrow at about 7:40pm, which will get me into the UK shortly before 9am. Hopefully I'll get some sleep on the plane, cause I'm gonna be facing some serious jet lag! LOL! :D I promise to take lots of pictures so I can share them with everyone! Be sure and watch the news, because me and my best friend in Europe? I smell trouble! ;) And on that topic, I'm most definately sure that I will have another episode of "Travel Tales" when I get back. It should include numerous shenanigans and funny stories! You guys know me... if something crazy hasn't already happened, I'll make sure it does because I'm definately coming home with quite a few stories! LOL! :D See you guys back here later on this week! But I'm off to sleep. I must get a good nights sleep tonite to combat the jet lag tomorrow night! Nite ya'll!!!

That will be fun! :) I've been to London 5 years ago on a trip to the millennium dome before it closed, its a very huge city, but there are some good tourist spots in London. Have Fun!! :D

I meet Ryan today and i give him a lil tour of London, He told me to tell u guys thats hes ok and he hasnt made the headline news yet which i'm quite suprised lol :p
Yes he does have quite a few pics and also he has his funny stories , example the sunglasses (aww poor Ryan lol :D). I know he has had a great time, Ryan will tell u more when he gets back. He catches the plane 2morrow 1.15 (GMT), not to sure when he lands tho

Thanks for all the welcome backs! I finally downloaded all 196 pictures off my camera... but for some stupid reason I had the camera on "Super Fine" mode, and it made the pictures like 22 inches wide. So I have to go change all of the picture sizes to a smaller size! Unfortunately I wont be able to do that tonite, or tell you guys about my trip, cause I'm off to the airport to go to Miami tonite for a quick one night get-away! ;).... I promise I'll be home tomorrow night! LOL :D

Ok, so finally have an afternoon to myself, so let me do the updating that I've been meaning to get to for like a week now!

London was fantastic! We left Monday night and were able to get businessElite going over there. The flight was delayed about 2 hours due to maintenence, and we had to swap aircrafts, but we finally got off the ground. Flight time was only like 7 and a half hours. I would have liked it better if it was a bit longer so I could rest up on it. That jet lag is something to talk about! Anyways, so we get to London and take the train in... and I'm about half dead myself, not feeling too hot either. We took the Gatwick Express into victoria station where I proceeded to pay like 20 pence to use that bathroom! LOL! Since when do you have to PAY to use a restroom?!?!! That was my first indication that London was gonna be expensive. That and I exchanged 40 bucks american to british pounds, and got like 23 quid or something. The teller gave me all these coins, and it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. I was trying to tell what they were since I had no idea what a pence was. So at victoria station we left and got on this double decker bus which looked like it was from the 1970's... and headed towards bloomsbury where our hotel was. The whole way I was trying to figure out where the heck I was, because London does not post street signs on the side of the road... they are all on the buildings, which I really didn't figure out until later on that day. We had to walk 3 blocks to our hotel, and I got lost going there... hehe... back to the old roadsign complaints. Anyways, so I get to my hotel room which did cost a pretty penny might I add... and its a shoebox! Cute room and all, but it was so small! I fell asleep for like an hour and a half. Then we got up and walked around and had dinner and drinks, did some shopping, and went back to the hotel to get ready and go out. That was fun. We were pretty tipsy, and didn't want to walk or take public transport back so we hired this guy that peddled a bicycle cart to take us back to the hotel! LOL... everyone kept honking at us! The whole time I'm thinking we were gonna die because we're on the wrong side of the road! So that was the end of day one. I slept for like 10 or 11 hours that night.

Then the next day we get up and go to the british museum which was a pretty amazing sight! I enjoyed all the exhibits and was particularly interested by the statue that they had brought back from Easter Island, which I've always had a desire to go visit. So we poked around and shopped a bit more. Then I get back to the hotel and i'm asking the concierge something and I hear this british voice say "James" which is Deans first name. I spun around and about died! There was Mike! LOL!!! He had tracked us down! Hehe... I think I about jumped out of my skin when I saw him, at first I was like "what are you doing here" and then I remembered he actually lives there! So he came up to our room and we just sat around and talked. Mike had assumed position of the tour guide! So we planned a route and hit the streets. Thank god he was there too because I never would have been able to ride the subway without him! I'm sure I would have gotten lost, and would have probably ended up in scotland if it weren't for him! Mike was a fantastic tour guide! He took us to Harrods, which I am desperately in love with! I bought a pair of $200 sun glasses, which I do not regret actually... I love them! But were walking through trafalgar square, and I look down, and CLUNK! There go my brand new glasses. 10 minutes... 10 MINUTES I've had them, and they are already scratched on the lens! LOL! Oh I was mad! After I had my fit of rage we continued on to Buckingham palace, wesminster abbey, big ben and the parlaiment buildings. By that time it was dark so we headed back to the hotel. Mike parted ways with us and we got ready to go out. Well I had forgotten to eat since the morning and was feeling really malnourished, so we hit the streets in search of a restaurant! We found a nice french cafe that was still open and so we ate there. We went back to the hotel and I died on the bed... I didn't sleep that well though. I think it was the jet lag.

So anyways, we were supposed to catch the 1:15 flight the next day. That didn't happen. I checked the flights and business was getting full. I would not sit in coach for 9 1/2 hours! Besides, I would never have had time to get to the airport. So we decided to take the 3:30 flight out of gatwick, which was the last flight. I felt like **** the next morning... probably from the entire bottle of vodka that I had drank the previous night. Go figure huh? So we struggle out and eat at a cafe and run through the museum again. Then we get our bags and hail a cab! It had a TV in it! LOL!!! I was so amazed by that. Anyways, so we get to the train station and i have to say goodbye to the wonderful city of London... it was pretty sad. I didn't want to go, but I had to. Anyways, so we get on this train and of course we get on the car that has no air conditioning, and in my weakened state of being, I thought I was gonna die. I survived the train ride barely, and we were cutting time really close. 1 hour prior to departure. I should have been at the gate already. So I run through security, run through the airport... didn't even have time to do any duty free shopping darn it all! And run run run like I'm being chased by charley manson, get to the gate. Yes! Me and dean get to sit together again in business class! Thank god! The flight attendants were so nice to me. They kept coming around and filling my glass up with champagne, which actually helped my stomach and the rest of me. I'm feeling pretty good by take off. I am relaxed and physically feeling better. Dean oredered a beer, and he was trying to get his pop out tv screen to come out, so I reached over and was fiddling with it when I knocked his beer all over him and the seat! HAHAHA... He was so mad at me! I was sitting in the window seat and he made me sit over in the aisle seat. We just put a plastic bag down with a blanket over it so it was no big deal. Funny none the less though. Dinner was fantastic, and I felt much better after I ate too. So we watched a movie and slept. The flight was significantly longer than the one coming over. We were battling tremendous headwinds on the way home. But I'd rather have a long flight than a short flight going to europe so I can rest.


Thats pretty much my trip. I got home late thursday night and had to get up early friday and start a 4 day work trip. I found the Jet lag pretty exhausting though. It not only makes you tired, but it just makes you physically sick. I felt awful every day except for the day mike came over and took us out. It wasn't unbearable. I'd just say if you are going to europe, stay at least 3 nights. That would be the minimum it takes for your body to adjust I'd say. Other than that I had a great trip! I really enjoyed myself and it was great to meet mike! He truly is an awesome guy! I'd love to go back one of these days, but like I said, I'll stay for a bit longer next time. Unfortunately that was all the time I could spare for this vacation. I will get around to getting some pictures resized, so I should have those up probably tomorrow. I'm not feeling too well today.

Stay tuned next month as Ryan travels to South America to Buenos Aires, Argentina! :D

Oh by the way Memo... I saw something that is perfect for you. I saw a Jeep that had the spare tire on the back of the vehicle... and it had one of those leather tire coverings on it... it had the same smiley thats on your avatar... I mean a BIG smiley, and it said on the bottom "Jeep. Theres only one." I about died laughing. I didn't have a camera in my car, except for my mobile phone, so I tried to snap a shot of it but it turned out to be real crappy. Needless to say, I'm still looking for another one like it! :D
