hi again everyone! as you know ( and if you don't) i am very passionate and commited to helping save innocent young children and girls from a multi billion dollar "industry" known as human traffiking. these girls are stolen, tricked and forced into a horrible nightmare, every day, every hour every minute, all over the world... and yes... it happens in canada, and the u.s in abundance. i just got news from the International Justice Mission www.ijm.org that with their help, 92 young slaves were rescued from a brothel in east asia and now 77 of them were brought back to their homes safely. i am going to try not to preach too much , only try to open your eyes to a huge problem that has been happening in the world, in our own backyards for years now, and people are dying needlessly. all because some men want to exploit and harm young girls for their pleasure. it is a harsh reality and it makes me want to cry so bad . that is why i need you guys to try and watch a 2 part mini series ( that i have NOTHING to do with) on Lifetime on monday oct 24th, called HUMAN TRAFFIK. please go to their website www.lifetimetv.com and watch the trailer at least. education is the solution to all. we MUST educate ourselves as women, and as men, especially. i know those of you who watch it will be disgusted, horrified, and saddened. .. just imagine how these girls feel.
one last thing.. if you do miss it, pick up a book called THE NATASHAS, by victor malarek. xoxoxo thanks for listening! karen :)

Over the last couple of years I've started to become familiar with human slave trafficking. It sickens me to think this is going on out there still. There is really so much still going on around the world and back yards that most people aren't really aware of. Since I've heard about the movie on Lifetime called Human Trafficking I've planned on watching it and I still do. I agree with you that education is the solution. People are going to be disgusted, horrified, and saddened by the movie on Lifetime but everyone is going to walk away with some knowledge and if your not aware of whats going on you will be after it. Okay trying not to get on my soap box so I'm going to bring this to a close.
Stay Safe,

Will the movie be on any other stations? I don't have Lifetime. There was an episode about human trafficing on either Sue Thomas or CSI. There was a murder and the inestigation lead to a ring of human trafficing in the US. It was a really good episode. Some girls at work saw something about human trafficing on tv not long ago cuz we were talking about it. It's getting quite a bit of coverage these days.
Karen,
I just checked out the Lifetime promo.
I'm so glad that they are doing a movie like this... but now we need the big networks to step up to the plate and bring this international tragedy to the forefront.
It wouldn't hurt to have it publisized on some of the major talk shows as well.
It's not going to stop unless we continue to inform and educate the public.
Thanks for helping us take this big first step and
thanks for giving so many of these women and children a voice.
Peace,
Vick
I've watch the trailer, and... that's frightening!!
World is crazy... it could happens to anybody, and anywhere!!
I hope that we will find quickly a way to stop that sort of individuals!!
I've learn that any crackeds also trafficed babies!!
... BABIES è_é !!
What happened to their heart (and to their grey matter)??

I will deffinatly be watching it, and if for some reason I have to miss it then that's what DVR is for. Ever since Karen started mentioning some of this stuff on here I've been very interested as well. I mean, I guess you don't think about it much. Like things like that couldn't possibly still be happening in the world today. But the truth is that it is still happening and we do have the power to help bring it to an end.
One of the big things that hit me was when Karen told me to read a book called "Notes from my travels" by Angelina Jolie. She travels to different refugee camps and learns all about what happened to these people and shares her experiences with you. So many things made me want to cry. If you're not a reader than you should deffinatly watch "Beyond Borders" also with Angelina Jolie starring in it. It's based on the same princables.
It's up to us to make people more aware of the real problems that are in this world. If only more people would speak out and join together to help these causes, then we could put a stop to the people responsable. Sometimes it is difficult to watch or read about, but Karen's right...imagine if you were in their shoes. It really starts to put things in perspective.

It's so horrible!!!!! I'm not really aware of it. I remember watching something like that on that on Sue Thomas. But it wasn't one of the things I thought happens everyday. It is so gross what some people do in this world it's sickening. I agree with LilLex it really puts things in perspective.

This is so heartbreaking. To hear of all the tragic disguishing things human being will do to one another. Makes my heart into pieces. I really wish that their was something we can do. I mean i know there is, but something more. Something to end this needless suffering. At least something is being done and that those 92 people were rescued from this horrible trade. It is shocking to think that it is happening right here in Canada and the US. I walk around and i almost never think about that happening here. Thank you for telling us this stuff and i will definately try to watch the show, although i don't have lifetime. I will check out the book.

Yeah I know the 2 girls in this movie Laurence Leboeuf and Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse. They are amazing actress'. And Human Trafficking is sick stuff, I feel so terrible for the girls that get pulled into that stuff. It's very sick. And then even if they get saved from that stuff they can never forget that it happened and they still live in fear and have those discusting memories. It's horrible. I wish I could see this movie but I don't have lifetime, I wish I did.

Well I just wanted to say that I watched the movie and I was totally appalled by what I saw. I mean I knew what it was about but I guess I just wasn't ready for the extent of what really went on in this film. It made me sick when those guys snapped that little girl's neck just because she was sick. The whole movie really just made me sick and want to cry. I wish there was something I could do to help. I know the most important thing is awarness and getting people to realize the problem, but if there's anything else I can do to bring this to an end, Karen please let me know. I'd like to help any way I can. This is a huge problem and I can't imagine being caught in that situation myself.
I understand now what you meant about being cautious when you were first approached about modeling. I mean I know there's always the chance there's something funny will happen with those wierdos out there, but I never thought about human trafficking. And I understand now that that is what you meant. That guy had a fool proof scheme to reel in young girls believing they're going to be models. Amanda, my cousin, once told me that she wanted to be a model. After seeing this movie there's no way I would let her get into it without fully checking the place out. The only thing is tho, is that this guy in this movie was fully legit. How do you know if it's for real or not?! You don't, and that's the most scary part of all. You just never know what's out there.

I saw iit too Nicole.
It was so compelling and upsetting at the same time.
Education/Awareness of young women is half the battle.
Showing this movie in education settings might be a good start.
Parents should see it too
Writing letters to gov't officials demanding long term sentences, stronger oversight and more money put into enforcement would help.
Thank you so much Karen for bringing this too our attention and giving a voice to these victims.

That is the most horrible thing that I can imagine. Innocence being throuwn to the wind because of heartless selfish bloodthirsty mongrels who need to be horsewhipped... this is a terrible occurance and I will definately watch tomorrow and check out the lifetime thing.
