riddle me this, Batman... why do we have to go back to regular time? I have spent a lot of time wondering this - as Ben now gets up at 5:40am. When there are is over an hour to wait before Sesame Street comes on, you know it's freakin' early!!!! But seriously, what is the deal with Standard time? Daylight Saving's is about saving electricity, right? The premise being that we enjoy the daylight hours better awake than asleep? well, I don't enjoy the wrong side of 6am no matter what, and thanks anyway, but it being bright out doesn't make me feel better about it.
ahhh - i just got a warning from my laptop that I am almost out of batteries.

Hey Ali!! Thanks for taking the time to post!! But you want to talk about it being light all the time. For the last three years I have lived in Anchorage Alaska where from May to about August...we have at least 18 hours of sunlight during the day....and the sun doesn't even set in June and July..ughh..talk about it being bright in the early morning all the time!! LOL..it cracks me up to see people putting foil in their windows..such an Alaskan thing. Well I hope getting up early gets easier!! Hope you have the most wonderful day!

Hi Ali! It's always so good to hear from you! :)
I swear they just do daylights savings time just to completely mess with the people of the world! It's so funny that Nevada dosen't do it. I went there on vacation and at Hoover Dam they have a bunch of clocks...one says "our time" and then they explain underneath that they don't do the whole daylights saving thing...talk about confused!
We drove cross country from the east coast! We never had any idea what time it really was!
plus it was reallt weird when we got to California and I'd be looking at my watch and it would say 10 o clock at night and the sun was still shining. I'd call my parents in Maryland and they would be in bed while I was looking at a beautiful sunset...WEIRD!

LOL Ali. You are so funny some times. I'm sorry that you, well actually Ben is not used to Day Light Savings time. Hopefully it will get better for the both of you. But it will probably be just in time to go back to normal time. Well have a great day anyway. Hope we hear from you again once the batteries have recharged on your laptop. LOL.

Hi Ali and everyone,
It takes a while for me to get used to the time change. At least a week or two. Take care. See you when your batteries get charged back up.

Yeah I am all off this week. Also just to clarify, Nevada does do daylight savings, it's Arizona that doesn't. And in 2 years they are changing it and it will be a week later every year because people stay up later. I say get rid of it because it was put in place for the farmer. Well some famers I am sure still need it, but the rest of us don't it just messes with our inner clocks. I was up at 6 am Sunday which is sooo early for me. The one good thing is the kids are getting tired earlier lol.

I love it the FIRST night I get an extra hour sleep. After that I drag for a few days. Hopefully Ben learns about Daylight Savings soon! I used to LOVE Sesame Street. I remember there was one "little video" where they showed making crayons. That was my favorite. Does anyone else remember that? Probably early 80's. 83ish? Snuffy was always my favorite. Oscar too! I love that old grump! Hehehe.

Hay Ali, it is so nice of you to pop in. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one wondering what the point of daylight savings time. OK, I did like the extra hour of sleep Saturday (I have to be up at 5am to go to work). Only to lose an hour when they decide to change times again..Why can't time just stay the same..*sigh* I guess that is just going to be one of those questions that is never going to be answered..lol Well to our liking anyway.
I hope your party went great. I hope you post a pic of Ben in his costume..bet he was a total doll. :)

Where I live in Oz......Queensland, DST is a complete waste of time. Actually it's a complete waste of time throughout Oz. Why would you want DST when you already have 11.5-13.5 hours of sunshine per day.......for the entire year!!!!. That's for the whole country. We have more than enough sunshine to keep us awake and busy.

It has been the same for me too. My body's internal alram clock, keeps waking me up early because of the time change. The only good thing is that I can actually do work in the carpool on the way to work because it is light enough to see, haven't had that in a long time. Hope Ben adjusts soon!

The whole daylight savings messed up Derek's (11month...almost a year 11/8) sleep schedual too. He wants to eat way too early now and the whole waking up when daddy gets up for work is getting to me...too early, and his nap was set at times where I could shower in the morning and cook lunch in the afternoon and cook dinner and do the dishes in the evening, now ever thing is all messed up and I am lucky if he takes one nap...

I know what you mean about the time change Ali. It was pretty confusing for my step-dad this past weekend. Where I live is an hour ahead from where I go to school and my mom and step-dad were over here b/c he had a show on Sunday afternoon close to my school. The clock in my mom's car was the old home time, so it was 2 hours fast. And he was trying to figure out when his show was. It was kind of funny.

;) Hi Ali, You must have just woke up when you sent us this message. Sorry to hear that your cute little boy wakes up so early. I hope that he gets used to the time change soon. I know it took me a couple of days to get used to, cause I have to wake up early, like around 6:00 a.m. to get my 11 yr. old daughter up and ready for the school bus by 7:15 a.m. One morning I was supposed to wake up at 6:00 a.m. I ended up waking up a half an hour later. And when I looked at the time, I said, oh no I have to get my daughter up and ready in time for the bus. The time change got me confused. So I know exactly how you feel. I hope things get better for you. Take Care

Working overnights, I prefer the spring forward more than the fall back like "normal" people. For me 1:00am kind of bit the second time around  . Come the next time change ... I will be Even Steven :) .

Hey everybody,
This is going to sound bad, but why not move where I am? I am in Arizona and we don't change clocks EVAH! :p
I moved to Waco, Tx, following a boyfriend once and had to do Daylight Savings at that time and it didn't really mess me up too bad, but I was running single and mommy-free at the time.
What Daylight Savings does to me now is mess me up when I need to call those who are on it. My ex-hubby is in Sacramento and I call him at 7am forgetting since it's 8am here. oops
