View Full Version : Cookie Recipe
Okay, I got a bunch of requests for Dave's Oatmeal cookie recipe. It was a big hit at work, so if you ever need to make 100 cookies fast, this is the way to go!!!! (warning: I never said they were healthy!!!)
Dave's Oatmeal Cookies (named after their biggest fan! /images/graemlins/grin.gif )
2 cups butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 medium sized eggs
3 cups all purpose unbleached flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
6 cups uncooked rolled oats
1 12 oz package chocolate chips (butterscotch if you prefer)
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (I hate nuts in my cookies, but that's entirely up to you)
3/4 cup grated coconut (another ingredient I didn't use, but if it sounds good to you, go for it)
Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Stir in Vanilla
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. In a separate bowl mix salt, flour, and baking soda, tehn add to creamed mixture. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Drop cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheet by tablespoonfuls, about 1 inch apart. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes. Do not over bake. (they should be brown on the edges and slightly raw in the middle for the chewy effect.)
Makes 100 2 inch cookies. Cookies freeze well!

Thanks for the recipe Ali and you have good taste no nuts in your cookies either. I'd rather have a smooth cookie than bite into that big hard nut the size of a baseball yuck!!!

Ali,
Thanks for the cookie recipe. It was very timely. We need to make them for our bowling instructor and tried another oatmeal cookie recipe Sunday night and had to dump the whole thing. Yuk! Truly inedible! We really are Tollhouse people but would you believe he doesn't like chocolate /images/graemlins/confused.gif.

Hey Ali,
I also make the best cookies. See what I do is I go to the store... look for my ingredients. You know, the regulars... milk and oreos or if you're feeling feisty-- chips o'hoy. Then I go home. Take time to put them in their respective glassware and wa--la. There done. I know. I am the next Martha Stewart. Without the trial and the money troubles... and the money. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks for the recipe,
CJ

I'm no Martha at cooking, but I am one heck of a baker, if you like your cookies and cakes lopsided! Since I am in a sharing mood, I'm posting my favorite dessert!
Cream Puff Delight
1 stick oleo
1 c. water
1 c. flour
4 eggs
1 lg. box of french vanilla Jell-o instant pudding
3 c. milk
8 - oz. soft cream cheese
8 - oz. Cool Whip
Chocolate syrup
Boil together oleo and water. Add flour - cool slightly. Stir in 4 eggs - ONE AT A TIME. Mix well and spread into greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool completely. Mix pudding mix, milk and cream cheese. Pour over cooled crust. Spread Cool Whip on top and drizzle with Chocolate syrup (I suggest to wait and use the chocolate syrup after you cut each piece and are ready to serve it)
HINT: COOL FLOUR MIXTURE BEFORE ADDING EGGS!
This is really good if you like really rich stuff!

hey this is for the person who is drinking a gallon of water a day, water is good to drink just one thing, becareful because more then 8 glasses of water a day can kill you, i had water intoxication and almost died from it, so i would limit your water intake. it is very dangerous to drink an eccessive amount of water.
