This is the interview I re-watched tonight. In 1999, Love did a variety of appearances and interviews to promote her upcoming TV series, Time of Your Life. This was one of her Tonight Show interviews.
Love came onstage in a red sweater and flowing red skirt. Jay remarked that she looked like a big pumpkin, so perhaps it actually looked orange in real life.
Love told an adorable story about the tooth fairy. When she was small, one of her teeth fell out, but she lost it. She wanted to put it under her pillow, so she looked around for a rock that might look like a tooth. When she finally found one, she polished it and made it look more tooth-like. She put it under her pillow and found $5.00 there in the morning! She admitted that she felt guilty since it wasn't really her tooth. Jay asked how her parents thought about her having stone teeth, haha.
Jay asked Love if she had ever experienced a bad pick-up line. Love said that she was driving in her car (she made an adorable driving motion at that point with an imaginary steering wheel), and a guy in another car said to her, "Hey, am I close to Vegas?" That's a weird pick-up line, haha. She wasn't impressed. She said that she didn't use pick-up lines herself because she didn't know how to talk to a guy. Jay said that girls don't need to, because all they have to do is stand there and guys will say the lines and make fools of themselves, haha.
