Thinks that he is depressed, he has read up on the symptons, and says he has most of them. He is a teenager, so to be honest right now im not taking it too seriously as people change and go through things at this age, i get that. But he does seem to be unhappy a lot of the time, and has little energy for things. I dont know a lot about depression, and i know the word depressed, as so many are, is way overused, and people use it loosely when they are just unhappy. But i was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to help him, if i should do anything, or whether this is just a phase hes going thorogh where thing in his life are getting him down.
Thanks guys

I think you should talk to him and ask him if there is anything that's upsetting him, maybe life at home is getting him down or maybe school/college? Either way, the best cure for depression is to get them to talk about it. Getting worries off your chest makes life a lot easier, if he won't talk to you about it maybe he/you should seek professional help. Depression, if left undealt with, will only make things worse- keeping things bottled up will make him ill, I know this because I have been through the same situation. So talk to him, nothing feels better than to have someone listen and open up to.

I hope he gets the help and support he needs, if you have any questions or want to talk just drop me a PM :)
