The Da Vinci Code in my opinion was a very compelling novel - it kept my on the edge of my seat, and I literally devoured it within a few hours. I could not put it down.

Dan Brown sustained the pace and excitement throughout the chapters and it was a thoroughly interesting read, especially with all of the controversial ideas he raised.

The Da Vinci Code is on my must read list, but I've got a few I want to fit in before this one. I might see the movie first I think - then read the book!

... the film is never as good!!

The Postman, the book cheated, much more enjoyable film.
Planet of the Apes, the original, harder to read, but that may be because the book was by a Frenchman and I'm American. ;) :D
It granted it was a mini-series and I love King's work, but he does tend to ramble, and boy, did he here.
Jurrasic Park Crichton falls back on his scientific background too much. Sometimes you just want to be entertained.

I've read the book before, and I enjoyed it a lot. The thing is though, the more I hear about it, the less and less I like it. Lately I've heard a lot about how The DaVinci Code was fabricated, and the more people hound Dan Brown for that the less I like it. Just keep in mind it is just a book that is made for entertainment.

it is just a story, and dan brown has said that hundreds of times, the fact that some people want to believe he is trying to pass it off as fact and is trying to destroy the church shouldn't change how much you enjoyed the book.

Ok does this book get any better? I am on page 72 and so far nothing has happened. Ok the curator has dies that's it! I'm getting bored. I think this book reads at a extremely slow pace. I was a bit disappointed that the car ride to the Louve took 6 pages. So I guess what I am asking is this.... Will the pace of the book remain this way? If so I think I'll dump the book and see the movie. I know that a lot of you have posted that this is the greatest book ever, that's why I bought it, but for me it's just to slow and to boring.

I have read the book, and loved it. It was a little boring in places, but it gets better! I haven't seen the movie yet, and am not sure if I want to, as the reviews haven't exactly been favourable...

I couldn't get into the book, but I did go and see the movie! It was kind of cool though seeing all those places in Europe. I had gone on a school trip to some of those places this year, and it's cool seeing them in the movie! I went to the movie with my dad, and I'm like "Oh my god! I was there, I saw that"! :)

The movie did the book no justice at all. I really enjoyed the book, in fact i barely spoke to my hubby for three days cos i had my nose stuck in it!! I was really looking forward to seeing the movie but right from the start i knew it wasn't going to do it justice at all. They changed so many details from the book. I know they had to skim some fat from the book otherwise it would be too long but i felt they skimmed the wrong fat (does that make sense). Crucial facts and details were left out.
I love Angels and Demons. I am definately going to read Dan's other books
