Wow! Your stories are all amazing! And what a genuine idea you guys had about putting up this board! Brilliant and very accessible to everyone!

I have to say that you can overcome depression and its demons. I know I did, and things are looking successfull on my side. I don't want to give in a lot of details, but I battled with drugs, and self-mutilation. Not too pretty. But one day, things got a little easier, things became less dark, but much brighter. I was blessed to have had, and still have to this day a wonderful husband-to-be (yeap, Im 24 and getting married!!!) who's been by my side through thick and thin. It takes the love of one person to make you feel alive and help you help yourself.

I am happy to report that I have been drug-free for 2 1/2 years and clear of cuts for 2 years now. I don't really remember what go me in so deep into depression, but Im just happy to be a walking ball of energy today!!!

I love to listen to others and give a helping hand...if ya need just to vent, don't be shy! Feels good feeling good! ;)

That is brilliant news Mel!! Congratulations and well done! I couldn't agree more with you about the "it takes the love of one person to make you feel alive and help you help yourself" because I had been feeling really down (which had caused me to get ill) the last few weeks, but there is a certain someone who has turned everything around and made me feel really happy and safe :) it's a wonderful feeling!

I also forgot to mention in my success story, that meeting my older sister for the first time almost a year ago, actually turned my life around even more! :)

Hiya guys!

Glad to have had so many responses! Sorry again for not responding in such a long time; I just got married a month ago, so you can just imagine the months prior how much I was running around! I barely had time to breath!!! lol

I promise to be around more and lurk the boards a little more often! I miss this place a lot!
