Introduction

Hello, my name is Megan and I have recently joined. I am sorry if this post is a little 'off', I haven't had much sleep the last week and now I think I am getting sick (yea for me!) I am 17, can't wait to be 18 (don't really know why). Starting college this fall, have no idea of what I want to major in. I like to ride horses, read, sing, listen to music, and watch movies and tv. Have had diabetes since I was nine, immune disorder since thirteen. I am telling this to all of you because I watch my friends give blood at the school donations, and I wish that I could. Becuase of my immune disease, I must receive antibodies monthly to replace mine. These are made from blood and so I can not give blood. (Which sucks, becuase they take enough of it out of me to do some actual good else where! lol) If anyone reads this, could you help me to find some way of volunteering around my city.

Hello Megan, welcome here!, i'm sorry so much there problems, seem me that you will have so greats friends here, and maybe helped, is a pain i'm living sooo long, i gived blood in various opportunities because i has blood "o"(-) that is universal for give, is a raritie blood but all the world can accept without no one problem, Cassualty i'm biochemical student but no more advanced and yet i not had Inmunology, maybe in1 year or few more, but i saw Fisiology 2 years ago for my side and has my father Fisiology medic and to be to see too so much there about inmunology human system into, and seem me that the advances in Inmunology and diabetics are amazing ! and maybe a few i know for listen there concepts from my father too however all this i don't know so much!! , but not has afraid i believe, because in the more extreme of the cases, exist solutions positives, i believe for that i listened.

hey megan!! welcome to the boards!! my mum has diabetes too and its really hard on her. but these doctors are amazing. there'll be a cure for it in no time! im really sorry that you cant give blood :( im not old enough yet

Welcome to Safesearching.
Sorry to hear of your health struggles.
Know that you can share whatever you want and you'll always have someone to listen.
I think if I were you and I wanted to volunteer I might go to www.redcross.org and see what local opportunites there are.
Or go to your local church and see what outreach programs they have.
There's also your local hospital who seems like they are always in need of good volunteers.

With regards to Safesearching though...
