jennie (the abandoned in the USA)

this is another childhood fave book i have to comment on.

Peter is a little boy in London just after the second WW who loves cats and one day wakes up to find that he is one.The family housekeeper hates cats and throws him out.
Peter is adopted by a cat called Jennie Baldrin and she teachers him how to be a cat.
Before anyone thinks this is a book for little kids then they couldnt be more wrong.
This is a moving story of what it is like to be on the other side of the fence so to speak.
Peter adapts to his new life and on his travels he grows to love sweet Jennie.
On their travels they meet wierd and wonderful characters like Mr Grim an old sailor,Lulu or fishface for short,a very spoilt cat and Dempsy the biggest cat and bully around.
The final scenes when Peter fights Dempsy for hand of Jennie will have you in tears-even writing this my eyes are misting up.
i dont know if this book is even printed anymore but if you are a big reader and see then buy it and i promise u will not be disappointed.

Wow, so he ends up staying a cat? How odd...lol sounds like an enchanting book I'll check it out after I've checked out all the books I said I would...and the list keeps going but I guess that's what happens when you love to read...lol
