I recommend you to have a look on movies which are not in competition or “un certain regard”. They’re really interesting !

Yeah, definitely thanks...great site and links. I'm really looking forward to Almodovar and Del Toro's new films, and sure hope I get a chance to see both in a theater...the distribution in the US outside of New York and LA is getting increasingly pathetic all the time, but we still get more than our fair share here, so I'm at least hoping on those. In the case of Del Toro, it's great to see him making a return to that sort of film after his last couple. Summer Palace looks great too, but will almost certainly have to wait for dvd on that one. Anyway, looking forward to checking out more of the films, and thanks again for the links.

Thanks for the links, Sabine. :)

The winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival this year was Ken Loach's The Wind That Shakes the Barley, starring Cillian Murphy. The film, a drama, is about the Irish struggle for independence in 1920.

Last year's Palme d'Or winner was Brokeback Mountain.

I hadn't heard anything about this film as of yet however, I had heard of Ken Loach before, having seen a wonderful film of his from 2002, entitled, Sweet Sixteen.
