Backstreet boys, yeah....what? are they still even around? Didn't they have one CD then drop off the music charts for all eternity, or was that just in my dreams? I don't understand these bubblegum pop bands. They are manufactured to sound a certain way, but it only attracts 12 year old teenie boppers who think these guys are gods. They all look and sound the same, and then the little girlies fight with eachother over which is better? Um....riiiiiight. Gimmie some Iron Maiden and I'm happy, but this stuff makes me sick!

yeh i used to like the BSB but i think they slipt up and now you get Nick Carter on his own!! (why oh why!!)

and westlife, don't even get me started i hated them from day one (they are a UK band so US people count your self lucky!). all they do is sing slow songs, and they stand behind a mic no daning or moving!! yet the get number 1's all the time!! i HATE them they get on my bloody nerves!!

Westlife = another Boyzone.. only they only sing ballads and cover songs. They have 7 'number 1 hits'.. and how many of them did they write?? *silence*.. exactly

I never did get boy bands. Whats up with all that stupid dancing, they get up and do like elbow nudges and kicks, and they're song is going something along the lines of i love and respect you. To me, let me hit you in the chest with my elbow just doesn't say i love you. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

lol! hehehe....Um...I never got the dancing either, what are they dancing around for anyway? If they had any talent they wouldn't have to dance around the stage and have pyrotechnics and fancy coreography and video screens at concerts either...but whatever. If you have been to a real concert you know what I am talking about.

Forgive me Steph lol but..
They wrote Bop Bop Baby every B-side for the past 2 years and roughly 50% of every album since coast to coast /images/graemlins/wink.gif and I like em! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
And for those who havent seen them live you get a very even mix of simple performing and dancing plus the odd special effect; they really toned it down this year obviously their talent was entertainment enough! << I'm serious /images/graemlins/smile.gif

the only concerts I've been to were for bands that weren't well known, they were by no means famous or rich so they had no way to afford things like that. They actually had to rely on their real talent, and they definitely put on a good show.

Okay so "Westlife suck" but why? I mean all you've said is "they suck" but what is it that's so bad about them. You can't say they can't sing because they can, you can't say they don't write their own songs cos they do, you can't even say that they don't play instruments cos they all do.

The only reason that's been given is they do ballads and covers which is fair enough; at least it's a reason which I can respect cos I don't like.. I dunno I don't like classical music cos it aint my thing but that doesn't mean I don't respect them cos they're good at what they do in their own lil corner of the music market... so there /images/graemlins/tongue.gif ... /images/graemlins/wink.gif

And besides 12 number ones as of Sunday is saying something! And don't say it's cos all the lil teeny boppers are out buying their singles cos the demographic of Westlife fans, yes it mostly female but it's in the 25-40 age bracket /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

All boybands suck. They don't dance.. they don't do anything.
No offense Goldie but Westlife suck. The first 7 number 1 hits weren't their own. They were cover versions and very badly done. Now they have copied Barry Manilow's 'Mandy' and they have destroyed it. They have totally trashed the song and they annoy me so much. Whenever it comes on TV i end up screaming and bashing them. I can't express enough how f*ckin full of hatred i am because of it lol maybe justa s ong but they do it so badly! yes they play instruments.. but they don't.. they don't dance.. they just stand their ruining other artists songs. They didn't get those number 1 spots because they are good. They got to number 1 because the song is good. I mean if they weren't covers.. who knows i fthey would reach number 1 with it still but they won awards for the songs because people know an like the songs from the original release. But they do it all so very badly. I am sick of Irish boy bands trashing everything. Not to mention they all frickin look the same argh they stress me.
Ok so they write some of their own songs. But why don't they release them? They have released 2.. maybe 3 of their own songs.. which were just as bad. But did they get to number 1? Were they there for as long as the covers? They should start releasing their own stuff instead of doing all covers. Then we'll see if they really are talented an deserve those number 1 'hits'. To me by releasing old hit songs they are just showing even more how fake they are.. another stupid boy band that will, hopefully in my opinion, be history after another album or so..

I have to admit, in my junior high teeny bopper days, they were the biggest thing to ever come out for me. They got me started on music. Heck, I even own all the albums. But now that I've grown up just an eensy weensy bit, I go back and think why did I worship these guys and their songs for 3, 4 years? I'm just glad I pulled myself out of the hole before I dug any deeper.

westlife have a made a career out of singing cover versions, i cant remember if theyve EVER sung a song that they have written themselfs? all they do in my oppinion is re- gurgatate foisty old ****!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congratulations....If I have to be honest...I used to love spanish versions of that groups when I was 9-10 years old.
Now I wonder Why Did I love that kind of groups??
but that's not the real question....How can love that annoying-15-years-old-girls that kind of bands?? And don't say you have never seen them or herad them In all the concerts they're the noisyest, the worst ppl there.

Any of you has been forced to listen to them? Has someone glued the headphones to your ears to make you listen to them 24 hours?? There are a lot more albums out there for everyone to choose from, u dont have to listen to Westlife if you dont want to. Leave their music for those who appreciate their songs. They do write their own songs and they can play instruments. You just saying that they dont cos u dont know them. You just hear them and say "oh, boyband, yuck!" Yes i am a fan and i've been a fan from the start. When people hates the bands that you love, you will say that they are crazy. Just respect other people's choice, please. Westlife lasts even more longer than Boyzone. Dont say they are them. They do good deeds, they donate their money for the needy. I'm proud of them. Tomorrow, Shane will get married, god bless him...You guys here have used your freedom of speech and i used mine. And please get to know people better before you slag them...

no no one glued head phones to make us hear them, but they do play their music on TV and radio too much, i personaly can't stand them, but if you do then great for you.

and so they should donate their money to the needy coz Gods knows they make too much!

whether they write their own music or not, it sucks either way, they always sing slow songs and never move, the one song they said they 'danced' in (which i can't remember what it was called) all they did was step forward and back and click their fingers. also i think they ruined the song Mandy coz BM version was WAY WAY better!

I scream everytime it come son TV.. my mum laughs my dad looks scared as i scream an then pretend to die. They have DESTROYED one of the most gorgeous songs ever. They can't sing it and damn BM for agreeing that these boys can copy it. They have done a terrible job and i refuse to listen to it. As i say.. and as my dad agrees the only version of Mandy to exist is BMs. No other version of this song exists at all

I really shouln't reply to this post, because by the end I will have gone mad, written about 10 million pages about how **** they are and be totaly AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!

Don't even get me started. All the stupid boy bands are just clones of each other. If you swapped a mamber of Westlife for a member of one of the others, I bet the only people that would notice are a few pathetic 10 year olds who havent discovered actual MUSIC yet!!! 

I am so surprised, and omg how the hell have Westlife managed to go on for so long, still getting number 1s, and more to the point, not been killed. There must be so many poeple ut there who would love to kill them (*raises hand*) (But I would like to add that if one of them dies tomorrow, I am innocent!)

And now there is a new boy band, said to be the 'next Westlife' (not like thats hard though). D-Side I think they are called. Well lets compare for a minute shall we:

Westlife - 5 people
D-Side - 5 people

Westlife - Irish
D-Side - Irish

Westlife - Obsessed little children are their only 'fans'
D-Side - Obsessed little children are their only 'fans'

Westlife - Sit on stalls singing ballads or 'dance' pathetically areound the stage
D-Side - Sit on stalls sining ballads or 'dance' pathetically around the stage 

The list goes on and on, and I could add so many other groups too, who would fit all of those things (except maybe the 'irish' one!)

 And what makes me even mader, is that there is now tv programmes looking for more of these people, and the losers (sorry, they prefer to be called runners up now!) think they are just as good too, so we get twich as many of these groups. I dont see why the should be called boy bands because when was the last time you saw them on Top of the Pops or something with instruments???? 

 Our whole music charts, and radio stations are being taken over by these pathetic, annoying 'little dancing boys' and they dont leave room for proper bands who can sing live, sound different to the lsat lot, play instruments, and are genuine, not some manufactured little puppets. 

And can I just add to the 'fans' that you will grow out of it soon, you want proof, just read the replys, and there are quite a few, from people who said "a few years ago I liked them, but now I can't think why the hell I ever did" etc It's just a phase you guys, it'll pass! 

 Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh it makes me so mad!!

Ey I'm not slagging without reasons believe me...and you think that I dunno them?? please they are at the tv and radio station all day!!!! I can't stand them because they're are clones of themselves(I mean, they're clones of anothers boy bands) and before judge their music and listen them...but what do you want me to do if for me they suck???
anyway I respect our opinion and the opinion of so many people that, like you also love the boybands....
but just a simple question.. if you're a fan and you them...why do you come to read this if you know you're gonna hear bad things about them??? because this is a board where the people can say their (bad) opinions about some artists and music.don't get angry for hear bad opinios for bands that you like cuz remember...there are more people in the world...and each person has different thoughs,expressions and opinions!!!
and by the way...I just can't stand they're music...for me it's good if they donate money for the needy,but a lot of people do that too and with a smaller bank account.
