I enjoy true crime books, as long as they are about something/someone I am a interested in. I would love to read the book on Andrea Yates, but can't find it. I have read books on Charles Manson, and find him a fasinating, but scary little man.

I couldnt agree with you more Charles Manson makes my skin crawl, he is very creepy!! I think that Helter Skelter is probably one of my favorite true crime books. I am fascinated at how he had such a hold on his "family" I also read one by Tex Watson, it was ok.
I read the book on Andrea, I think the one I read was Breaking Point by Suzy Spencer, and depending on your view of Andrea's crime, the book actually made me very angry as I felt it was written in her defense. There is another one on her called Are you there Alone, by Suzanne Omalley, both of these books can be found on Ebay for around $5, maybe less. That is where I buy all my books, I read the stories on crimelibrary then I go to ebay and buy the books :p I dont know why I am so fascinated with true crime, especially infanticide, as it is so appaling what people do to other people, let alone there own children. Ijust finished this one about a woman who killed 8 of her babies, completely stunned I did some research and found several other books about other women who killed anywhere from 5-9 of their babies. I trully believed that it was like a freak once in a blue moon type thing, I couldnt believe how many women have murdered their babies.
I also loved In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Man there is so many I have read over the years I dont know where to begin, what else have you read that we might discuss? Theres a couple I read that really made me jump, like The boston strangler, man that book was just really well written and gave me the creeps BAD. Also Through the Window, about serial killer Tommy Lynn Sells, that book had me up locking the doors and windows and closing all the curtains :D scared the beejeezes outta me:eek:

This is the book I wish to read, and I wouldn't be surprised if the book is written in such a way to make us feel sorry for her. I will never feel sorry for her. Sick in the head or not, it's no excuse. I believe she was perfectly sane when she killed those kids.

I am so glad you said that, I couldnt agree with you more. I have very strong feelings about this case and I got into some pretty heated debates on another website about it. My whole point is that you cant tell me that Charles Manson, or Jeffrey Dommer, or Ted Bundy or any of those infamous serial killers are sain, therefore what makes them any different than Andrea. If she was found Not Guilty by reason of Insanity than I suppose they should be too, as they are just as nuts as she is. Plus I feel that it should be Guilty by reason of insanity I mean SHE DID IT, how can she be not guilty? And thats fine if people say that she should be in a place where she can get the help she needs, I dont have a problem with her being in a nut house as long as she can never ever be set free. If she gets "better" she should have to go back to prison. Her kids will never have the chance to walk around why should she. I think that my biggest problem with her "insanity" plea is that she knew she was "loosin it" and tried to seek help, thru her husband and her mom and her shrink, if she knew enough to seek help then she should have known enough to remove herself from her children for their safety. and I definatly dont buy the **** about the devil was tellin her to do it, or that the devil was trying to hurt them so she killed them to save them, give me a break, I was not born last night. I just think its a whole lot of hog wash. But yes the book was completely wrote to make you feel sorry for her, and basically that it completely wasnt her fault. It absolutely infuriated me!!
