How many seasons/series of lost is there?

So far, there has been two seasons of LOST with 24 episodes each season. Production on season 3 began this past Monday with a premiere date in the US of October 4th of this year. :)

thanks Rye i have seen season 1 and 2 and i cant wait till see the 3rd but how long will the show go on for, i heard that there would be 9 seasons but i dont know if this is true

I was reading an interview with one of the producers the other day and he was quoted as saying that he'd like there to be only 5 seasons of the show. He said that in his and the other producers minds, there is an end to this show and he feels that they can tell all the stories that will lead them to this end/conclusion in 5 seasons.

There's nothing definite yet as in the end, it's up to the network and studio who own the show to decide how many seasons there will be but I personally feel that 5 seasons would be a good amount, especially knowing that the producers know where they want to end up for the series finale.

thanks Rye, i think 5 seasons would be enough for LOST if there was more than five i would be totally confused lol if the producers say they already have a plan of how the show will end you can bet money that it will be a brilliant finale i dont know where i got the 9 seasons out of, i think my friend told me she read it in a magazine lol:rolleyes: :p :D
