View Full Version : Average people are now terrorist?

I am a bit concerned with the way the airlines are now handeling passengers that are of middle eastern decent. The latest embarassment comes from Schipol Airport. There were 12 indonesian chefs on a flight. The destination of the flight was not specified. These men were using lap tops and exchanging discs.... oh and they weren't speaking english. (remember this is an international flight leaving the Netherlands) Needless to say the flight attendants made the capitan turn the plane around. These men were arrested and detained while their laptops were reviewed. would you like to know what they were doing? Exchanging menu schematics so they all had the same things on their laptops for the course they were going to be teaching. It was confirmed by authorities that they were professional chefs that were to supposed to be teaching at a cooking fair.
Now I don't know about you but if it was me in this situation I would be very mad. Beyond mad.
I understand that since 9/11 the flight rules have changed. But what happens to the people who are not arabic and are just normal people? They are being arrested from the flights and detained until their stories check out. A similar instance happened in another European flight, two men were arrested for wearing leather jackets and dressing in all black and being arabic. That was the reason for their arrest. No never mind that they actually didn't say or do anythig wrong.
Here is my concern....
If this path continues then everyday ordinary people who are arrested without cause will start to fight back. Then it will no longer be the al qaeda terrorist that we need to worry about, but our neighbors. The everyday people who will be arrested for walking down the street with a scarf on their head, or maybe they will be in a store speaking arabic and someone will think it's wrong, or maybe the by stander is rascist so they go to the store manager and before you know it the women who just wanted to go grocery shopping will be arrested.
Somehow there needs to be a policy that seperates "weird" behaviour from "rascist" motivation.
Or perhaps the answer is that maybe there can be seperate flights for people of arabic decent. That way they can fly in peace and not feel affraid that maybe they will be arrested for looking at the time on their watch. (which by the way that happened also. A man who was arabic was arrested for looking at his watch while on a flight) Somehow somewhere there has to be a line drawn, but who is the correct person or organization to draw that line?

Didn't you know, Lisa, the Indonesian chefs were planning to attack the airline's food stores by creating really hot curry recipes that would make everyone on a plane want to run to the toilet with diarrhoea. That would then melt the skin of the aircraft:eek::p:D
Honestly, it's what the terrorists actually want. The authorities are doing their dirty work for them.

As for who did what and why, that's always up for debate.
And if you think you can do a good job at alienating people, or just have a grudge against one person, or a whole "race", you can sign up to watch over them and report thier suspicious activities:

We're all suspected terrorists now, I know with my long hair, a bottle of conditioner is seen as a threat to alot of women.
How dare my hair be silkier and shinier than thiers!
(and not one split end :p my hair is to fine to get those :p )
And now they have been given a "legitamite" reason to turn me in; it may not be conditioner, it may be a bomb.
You may think that I'm being a little extravagant in my wild delusions of terroristic hair conditioner, but ask yourselves, just where do they get all the nuts in the audience on the Springer show from?
They can't all be actors can they? At least some of them gotta be real right?
Thank god the whole world isn't based on the Harper Valley PTA (http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/hall-tom-t/harper-valley-pta-12424.html)

Well if your hair is better then mine then I want to know the secrets to your great silky hair. Seriously. And your right some nut case women out there would think that since your hair looks better it must be a conspiracy. The world is gone weird!!! :( And of course someone will try to make a conpound and put it in conditioner. Perhaps the world is not safe and we must all move to our own isle. I got dibs on the isle next to Johnny Depp's.

Not once in 2 decades has it been tortured by the searing heat from that devilish contraption called a "Hair Dryer"".
(the secret shampoo and condtioner along with any other "treatments" are my privileged knowledge only, sorry)
And it'll get pretty boring on your own little isle with nobody else there to share it with, so don't forget your binoculars or telescope.

 The world is gone weird!!! :(
Yes it has:
eBay prohibits textbooks for homeschool teachers
Lumps them with illegal drugs, bootleg recordings,
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=51702
However, you can still buy hydrogen peroxide, fingernail polish remover and a great big vat of sulfuric acid on ebay.
So lets see;
Teaching materials = bad
Stuff to make a bomb = Okee Dokey?
heck, with the great big vat of acid ya don't even need to make a bomb, just tip it over by a gas station.
Yep, worlds gone wierd.

Passengers should have to strip naked before boarding, and their clothes checked in with their luggage, after which any possible "explosives" should be flushed out by enema.
Upon arrival, they would receive their clothes as they collect their lugagge. :p

Duck!
Ya got watch it, now they're trying to pass a "Anti-Terrorism" Law that makes it illegal to challange the legality of the law itself;
"no court, justice, or judge shall have jurisdiction to hear or consider any claim or cause of action whatsoever, including any action pending on or filed after the date of the enactment of the Military Commissions Act of 2006, relating to the prosecution, trial, or judgment of a military commission under this chapter, including challenges to the lawfulness of procedures of military commissions under this chapter."
Linky:http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c109:2:./temp/~c109TRAFdM:e76739:
As far as I can tell the first part of that sentence:
"Except as otherwise provided in this chapter and notwithstanding any other provision of law (including section 2241 of title 28 or any other habeas corpus provision),"
Just means that on the sideline things will be the same, In totality what it means in my eyes is they are just doing what is normal* for government to do.
Making the illegal legal for them so they can get away with it.
Kinda like insider trading, not legal for Shareholder Boards, but just fine for those whom represnt us**.
Why make a Law that cannot be challenged, even by the Supreme Court?
*pukes
**do they really represent us?

Although this has gone a little over the top, i do agree that it is better to check more middle eastern people than white people at airports. If you were looking for a football hooligan in britain you would not stop a black, young woman, you would stop white middle aged men, yet that is not racist.
it is not physically possible to search everyone, but i am happy for new regulations if they save even one life
also, the two men in england weren't arrested, they were asked to leave the plane so they could be searched, they both did so and afterwards said it was annoying but they understood why, and that they were happy to submit to searches if it helped to stop terrorists

More to add to the list of "Terrorists"
Common Prisoners (http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-6147134,00.html)
The way it's worded makes it seem like all the prisoners there are terrorists, not just some.
Yes they may be murderers, thieves and rapists, but calling them terrorists is taking it to far.
Watch the marketing kids, if they can't sell you the War on Terror (™), there wouldn't be one.
Who's next to join the list of "Terrorists"?
People who park in front of fire hydrants?
People that don't follow the speed limit?
Tax evaders?
(the little individual ones, whilst corporations may do it for the profit of thier shareholder boards and directors the corporation is not a real person except in law and cannot be charged with a "Prison Term".)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporation
Who else do you think is a Terrorist?
