I watched them last night. I thought they were good. I'm glad they kept it right at 3 hours and didn't run over. A nice show and a few surprises. :)

I was stunned with some of the choices but at least it didn't run long.
I thought Conan was pretty good and the tributes to Dick Clark and Aaron Spelling were excellent.
I particularly liked that the girls made mention of the fact that it took Aaron to get them back together... all 3 looked beautiful.
My favorite moment so far was when steven colbert's cried about loosing to Barry Manilow.
I thought that was laugh out loud funny.

I watched them until Barry Manilow won. The tribute to Dick Clark was awesome. I wish I had been able to stay awake & see the one for Aaron Spelling. Since I don't get HBO, some of those shows I had never heard of. Oh well.

I thought Conan did a great job too. Steven Colbert and the Colbert Report is one of my favorites, and Steven Carell and the Office. Steven Colbert lost to the Daily Show, and Steven Carell lost to Tony Shaloub on Monk. But they are all comic "satirists" of sorts, and I think all brilliant. The bottom line, as they say over and over, just to be nominated and to be there makes them all winners. Since I haven't done as much television as film, I always enjoy the Academy Awards the most. I hope to be on that red carpet one day, and have a speech almost written! Life is wonderful, because anything is possible. I am blessed with an optimistic and positive attitude, and plan to continue to work hard to get what I want! That really does matter in achieving your dreams! "Sweet dreams" to all of you! xo Lin

Yes, I watched the award's last night...they were great!
Conan did a great job!
I loved the opening, where they made fun of 'LOST' and 'Dateline' and others....great job!
The tributes were also very well done, and put together :) kudos to them!

I'm so glad you and everyone thought it was a good idea. The board was in need of purging (Mod speak :p), and I didn't want to lose your wonderful thoughts and ideas that you have shared with us all. I'm constantly bugging Kathy for Archive boards, so thankfully, she gave in ;)

I'm thinking that the Emmys will be on here tonight - I hope I don't miss them. I'm a Hollywood-mad little bee, and I love the fashion and the jokes, the united front everyone puts together for a good night out :D

I say we start some petitions, annoy those Academy bigwigs, create some online fansites and get you on that carpet :D It would be great to see that dream of yours come true ;)

Your optimism and positive attitude is one of the things I admire most about you Lin :) It's truly an honour, a special gift that you give us - your joy for life is wonderful, and very contagious!!

I'm off to study - one of my dreams is to do well in school, so studying is the road I must travel to get there :p

I loved it!! Barry was fab!! And Aarons tribute was amazing the "angels" looked great together. It was so sweet how they kept looking up as they talked about Aaron.

Lin, it is a pleasure to provide an additional venue for you to share your thoughts. I fully agreed with Zoeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee's assessment when she pointed out how energized and positive you are. We simply did not want to lose your words of wisdom in our daily board maintenance. Some days Lin, it isn't easy for many of us to put one foot ahead of the other. A bit of uplifting wisdom from you and others makes a significant difference. I am pleased we can keep these "bits and pieces of mental treasures taken poetic flight" available for all of our community. I'm pleased you find the archive of value.
