This is one of my favorite photos of James Dean because he looks truly happy and not faking a smile.

Does anyone else have a favorite photograph of James Dean? I posted this thread in hopes that fans of James Dean would post one of their favorite photographs of him.

This is my ultimate favorite photograph of James Dean. I have seen over hundreds of photographs of James Dean. I chose this one because it is as real as an photgraph can show of human emotion.
James Dean was at a very sad time in his life when this photograph was taken. Pier Angeli had just married Vic Damone and James Dean found out she was pregnant. It was like his heart was ripped from his chest but he realized later that he invoked his own pain because all he had to do was follow his heart and marry Pier Angeli instead of listening to his New York agent Jane Deacy who told him that he would be a fool to marry Pier Angeli because his first starring movie East of Eden hadn't come out in the theaters yet and he wouldn't be the star because Pier was the star at the time. I know that sounds hard to believe that she was a star because not many people know who Pier Angeli was but in 1954 Pier Angeli was an established actress and on a lot of magazine covers. Anyways, James Dean was never truly happy with any other woman after Pier Angeli. James Dean was trying to teach us to follow our hearts and not our foolish pride through his own pain.

As soon as I pulled up this photograph on the screen and stared at it right after I posted it, I heard an old song on the television that went "Hello! It's me. I thought about us for a long long time." These lyrics kind of freaked me out because I am thinking about what James Dean was thinking from the time his relationship with Pier ended till his fatal car accident. I think James Dean was letting me know through those lyrics all of a sudden coming on when I looked at this photograph. Maybe I am over-tired!
Lots of love,
Sandra
