Hello everyone,

Have any of you noticed that Melinda is wearing a totally different makeup style from the first season? It only made an impression on me because in the first season, it seemed kind of old fashioned or retro. This season its much more modern, although she looks great either way!

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed.

Thanks

Hadn't really noticed. I guess I'm just too busy waiting to jump or get scared over something happening in the story. :D

Love's mentioned in interviews that they were going to tone down some of her clothing this season, they have, but this week's episode had another great outfit nonetheless.

Melinda's intro sequence is different from the first season too, they've filmed different angles of Love's face for this new season.

The intro sequence is interesting. I'm still curious as to the backstory of the bee theme. Any guesses?

I have absolutly no idea what that opening sequence means. I find it abstract and a little freaky. Can anyone explain it to me?

The opening sequence has changed a little. "Melinda" among ghosts---and she used to say,
"Just got married...." and the titles didn't yet have the "blindfold" removed from the figurine.

Now, "Melinda says "I'm married" and there is a blindfold removed. It is truly abstract;and
just occult symbolism. Perhaps the small changes are to distinguish it as a new season.

I also noticed that the recent episode (having Melinda in a cornfield or something for a few
seconds) is similar to a moment in the title!

I noticed that as well, I wish I knew what the whole opening sequence meant. It's so strange it's hard to associate any part of it with anything.

I noticed.
Maybe a makeup styling.

This I missed totally. The new season intro is different from the old. But these details I read I am unaware. I do know that at the very end of the intro for both years is a profile of Jennifer panned in from the viewer's right.

I don't especially like the story arcs. I much prefer the Mr. Van Praagh spirituality framework or storylines.
Maybe because I do not watch the other show. Medium.
Maybe a serious consideration for me.

They're not actually Van Praagh's stories, they're John Gray's babies. He directs and usually writes them all. Van Praagh is an executive producer and inspiration.

Very observant on catching the details about the differences in the seasons' intros. I suppose it's like most abstract art; it has one meaning for its creator and is designed to inspire the viewer to search for a meaning of the art relative to their own perspective. The works of Man Ray are good examples of that. A symbol is just that, and its literal meaning often seems odd in the art at face value. Whether its the melting face of a watch, or a suit of bees, often the implication is a mystery until the viewer searches deeper for the context. I was just wondering what others "see" in it from their perspectives. Is it just a nod to last season's episode about the boy who got killed by the swarm of literal bees? Are they supposed to represent the carrying of the "pollen" of life from one soul's "flower" to the "hive" of the light? Or does Love Hewitt just really like honey on her Chic-fil-a nuggets? ;) Maybe one of these days, she'll decide to do a chat like the one Alyssa did the other day, if her scheduling allows, and we can ask her. Or I could try and run the question up the SS flagpole and see what happens. (With my luck lately, the flagpole would probably get hit by lightening while I was still holding the rope, but I digress... )

I'm glad that fans notice that JLH DOESN'T have the main input to this show. So she really
can't be blamed for foul-ups. "GW" is now just #2,not #1, anymore.

Sometimes, it looks like one big commercial (for example, the Oct.13th episode.)

But,ironically, what this thread was about....the TITLE....I heard that, originally,it was to be
nominated for an Emmy award....however,that fell through or something....

No one need be blamed for a thing? Why is blame necessary for a show that's doing so well in the ratings?

It was more than 'was to be', Ghost Whisperer's titling was indeed nominated for an Emmy, it didn't win is all, nothing fell through.

I don't know what you mean by commercial, there's nothing remotely commercialized in any of these episodes, Melinda is merely sending souls into the light. The episode on the 13th was quite touching, to me anyway. The subject of autism is a tough one, I feel they did a pretty darn good job of approaching something like that. They also added one of those small 'CBS Cares' public service announcements with Love mentioning autism too, a very nice addition to the episode.

The second season hasn't even arrived here yet >_>;

Not to uh, discard the importance of make up - But does this really actually matter? At all?

The Bee theme is linked to the mythical hexagon shape- The Bee is an highly evolved species.
