Hey guys! i thought a really good post to post... is just one with simple fundraising ideas you guys can embedd into your schools/offices and home towns, just to raise money and awareness about certain causes
1) okay if you guys know anyone who owns a bar or club, talk to them abotu holding a charity dance there for instance... so for one night they let you use the bar or club, you advertise it nicely and you can charge for tickets, making it very clear proceeds go to charity. You guys can have theme parties, like an xmas party (reindeers, santa clause, elves etc etc), halloween parties or even a new year party etc etc
2) Organise a ---thon, a marathon, a slimathon get the drift? Yeah simple, get a group of people that wud be willing to do it, and then they can get people to sponsor them. For example, if you go to school get people to do this run or whatever it is, and let them organise their sponsors...
3) Sport Events - Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Cheerleading, Volleyball- any sport can have a league to it... each player pays once to play in the league and then people coming to watch can be asked to pay a certain amount for like a ticket. This way everyone has fun, while raising money for charity. You can then get a few sponsors to provide you with like some sort of prize, that the winning team would get ( it can be ANYTHING!)
4) Another idea is buying something for a certain price and selling it for more, and the difference goes to charity. For example, making a deal with a pizza chain and they will give you a slice of pizza for x amount. The you sell it for x +2 amount, this way for every pizza slice you sell, you make 2 for charity. This would only work in some situations though. It doesn't have to be pizza, itcud be anything really...
5) Next, after the last idea, is that there are many websites that provide like a product, at such a prize that when you sell it you can make up to 55% profit, and they sell products like customized lollypops ( can be sold at schools with the school logo, or at churches etc etc), chocolates, wrist bands, cookie dough ... SO much! if you guys want the link to a good website, just PM me...
6) Then some ideas dont ned to be DIRECTLY linked to raising money. For example, right now i am launching a new idea for my school... making back packs and sending them off to kids that need them. You simply put educational stuff in there like pens pencils composition books etc, then toothpaste and a toothbrush soap, and maybe some simple clothes.. and you put it in a backpack... then you send them to organizations that deal with these things, and they send the bags off to kids who need them a lot, which motivates them to go to school and stuff... and these backpacks can last them for SOO long.. So if you are in a school, propose the idea to them and if each student makes a backpack you can easily make such a big difference. if you would like to do something liek that just PM me and i can help you out a lot, because im doing it too haah
7) How about a Yard Sale? Garage Sale? you cna clear out all the stuff that you don't want. sell it and give the money to charity... but to do this properly, you have to be really organized, you have to have seperate tables with the price clearly visible... and make it clear that all the money goes to charity, to do this properly you can contatc the charity you want to give them the money to before hand, inform them and maybe get a representative to write a letter saying YES the money will be donated to us, which you can stick to the table so people can read it as they go by
8) Music Concerts- this is a really good way to raise some money, IF you DO know someone that owns a bar or club, or hall then this could really work, If not, ask if you can use a school's gymnasium or a hall in the town... Then recruit bands and singers, that are willing to sing for free, any age really, you can target schools etc etc. Then to get people motivated try to get a biggger scale band, like a local celebrity-ish band to play IF they can. So you can have a sort of competition there, the bands play, and depending on how good they are, they go to the next round. So you can start off with 10 bands, then 6, then groups of 2 bands in 3 groups. The best out of those 3 groups, go to the finals... see? THEN you can a couple of sponsors to give prizes of some sort for the winners... for example you can check out your local recording agency and ask if they can sponsor the prize for the winner andthe prize can be recording one song in theri studio...
9) The last idea i think im gonna tell you guys about is a bake sale.. sounds so simple and so stupid, but who doesnt love sweets? always works, its so easy to do, get people to bake cakes etc and then hold it somewhere, maybe a school, a park etc... simple as that. Another idea ( LOL i lied! that was my last idea) is fasting. Give up a meal for a week and the money you would spend on it keep it aside, and send it to a homeless shelter. This way you can see how homeless hungry people live and help them out. This could really make a difference if you get a big group fo you, who do the fasting bit...
10) There are SO mant other ideas of raising money for charity, but whats the point of raising money if people don't know what for? Inform yourselves, know everything you can of how other people live, how other people have to see their lives... Knowledge is Power so learn everything you can. a good way to start is by doing volunteer work, because your not just reading facts on the internet, you gonig to orphanages, you are going to animal resuce centres, you are going to schools for kids with learning disabilities, you are going to poor people's villages and school... and its a first hand experience, one that will stick with you... so before you organise events and stuff, go do volunteer work, and learn... and dont forget, a lot can be done for animals too, animals don't have a voice so they can speak up for themselves, so doing something for animal shelters and stuff, is equally rewarding and helpful.
