Many times we just want to lie down. Stop everything we are doing,
thinking, feeling, seeing, saying, pretending. Just to lie down and
forget we exist. Fall into the eternal and infinite void of nothingness and
disappear. Perhaps time would stop and the nagging responsibilities of
every day life would falter to be. Floating in a timeless, lifeless,
and detached abyss. This chasm is obviously null of having the means to
sustain life. Our bodies fall and fade away back to the world as we watch from
our place of darkness lit only by the light and warmth of our life essence.
Drifting in this hollowness of naught we spin softly as our essence
emits a soft hum of stillness. We are alone. There are others, but they have
their own time-space continuum and are not bothersome. As you glide gently
around them they wave and you wave back, sending a soft tone of your hum to
them. As they float away they are not slighted by your lack of interest in
them. For they are content to be alone with themselves until they again pass
by another and are greeted tenderly and nothing more.
Leaving this place to finally return to earth would be much like, I
imagine, waking from a glorious dream would be like. The fading in and
out of the images. The irking thought of having to wake to another day of
the same saddening things. Finally letting go of the hope of recapturing
the rest of the dream. Waking fuzzily and forlornly; pulling back the warm
and safe covers of your bed to reveal the harsh sunlight, the bleak
coldness and abrasiveness of the morning air on your warm and supple skin. Knowing
that you face another day of callous semblance and disheartening mendacity.
Yet you get up and out knowing that at the end of the day you can return to
that same dream state and have things the way you wish. Maybe this is why
we all go on? Knowing that at the end of the day, during that silent night,
we will have a release from the confines of our mind to the perpetual
state of flawless existence.
