I thought I could try to make some banners for the banner challenge. I don´t make banner as long as you all, lol :) Here´s my first banner. It´s with Teri Hatcher:

oOo nice how did u get the effect with the butterfly and the stars?

Simple really..the "stars" are just white dots put onto 1 layer. Then I copied that layer and gaussian blurred it by about 1. Then merged the layers, then done the same again. Then I just set it the layers blending mode to overlay (or softlight, can't remember) and erased out the parts that were too bright using a large soft eraser with it's opacity set to about 30%.

And with the butterfly, I just took a pic of a real butterfly, desaturated it, then brightened it so it was a light grey. Then just set that layer to overlay (or softlight)...see, simple! :p.
