Just copy this code into the address bar of your browser, and have fun editing SS!
javascript:document.body.contentEditable='true'; document.designMode='on'; void 0
:D
(to reset, just navigate back... ;) )

Excuse me? What are you talking about? This is a joke board. Not an anti-subversive solution board. Besides, everybody knows you can't put Javascript into your address bar and get a result. Who do you think you are? Bill Gates' evil twin or something?

It works in Firefox but not in Konqueror. Oh well. :P

-LarryHave you actually tried it? It works in Firefox and other Mozilla/Netscape-based browsers at least.

Tried it, didn't work. Besides, I don't want hacking codes listed on SS - if I could change the look.

larry h, it appears that it is indeed you that is in the wrong forum - one down from this one in the list of forums you'll find "Frustrations". This humour forum certainly would not be appropriate for lashing out at me merely because you don't understand the post.
Also, who is the "everybody" to which you refer in your sweeping claim about javascript and browsers? Certainly doesn't include any programmers. And what hacking codes are you talking about? The javascript simply puts your browser into edit mode - note: your browser. Certainly has got absolutely zero effect on the remote webserver.
Besides, anybody here who has seen me around these forums would know full well that I would never do anything to harm these boards - it would certainly not be behaviour befitting a Celebrity Loop moderator. ;)
These are simply browser "tricks" for fun, and can be done using any site of your choosing, and if you'd had any idea of what you were looking at you'd possibly appreciate the post. Clearly you don't have a clue - hence your disrespectful commentary!
gnulinuxman, I haven't tried it on Konqueror, but yes indeed, Mozilla-based browsers, Opera and IE works. Here's another one that makes things fly around in your browser:
javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.getElementsByTagName("img"); DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=(Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5)+"px"; DIS.top=(Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5)+"px"}R++}setInterval('A()',5); void(0);
(after you paste the code, don't forget to hit enter, btw - otherwise yes, it won't work...)
As usual, just hit your back button or restart your browser to exit it. ;)

Deart Scollzie,
It sounds like a hack because we shouldn't have access to changing the look of SS on a computer. And they just changed the look of SS. I like it fine. Sorry for the mixup.
Best,
Larry

All forgiven, Larry :)
Had no idea they were just about to change the look, so yeah the timing of that coupled with the title of this post might look a bit eerie!
Don't worry - you don't affect the webserver or anybody elses webserver whatsoever - only your own browser... that first javascript merely putting your browser into edit mode, effectively turning it into a WYSIWYG editor. (What You See Is What You Get)

As usual, just hit your back button or restart your browser to exit it. ;) That's funny!
Konqueror doesn't like JavaScript entered into the addressbar, but I'm using Firefox at the moment. ;)

I just switched to Opera and can say it works in Opera too. :D Still doesn't work in Konqueror, though. :(
However, that flying images one does work in Konqueror if I add it as a "minitool".
