You seem as happy as me.

This was the best Friday ever - it was pay day so I went shopping with 2 friends. It was my short shift at work and I didn't have to wear uniform cos its red nose day and we could donate money to the charity to wear our own clothes.

One lad is only about 17 and he put £20 into our donation tub rather than buy a new playstation game - its nice to see there are still young people who give to charity!

Tomorrow is St. Patricks Day - I'm at work during the day and then I'm out on the town in the evening. Hopefully I'll have some good pictures!

Sunday is my eldest nephews 5th birthday so I should be seeing him - hopefully without a hangover lol!

Last night was so cool! Unfortunately I'm now so tired I might have to go and lie down! I took a disposable camera and I'm going to get it developed tomorrow! There should be some fantastic pictures.

What did everyone do on Friday and Saturday?

Friday night I met the producer and director of Down the PCH, this small film I did that just got it's DVD release, for dinner. We met at the Whiskey A-Go-Go, which is a still-very-hip club on Sunset Blvd. The producer's daughter was doing a "set" of some music she wrote. She plays her own guitar and sings. SHE IS WONDERFUL! ! Her name is Vanessa Monarch. I hope you will hear more from her! Then we all went had had a nice dinner across the street....a little wine, good food and good company! Saturday night I stayed home and watched "last weeks LOST," which my son had tivoed, with my constant companions Lazer and Molly and the kittens, made a huge salad, and fell asleep on the couch waiting for my son to come home. He finally called me and told me he had gone on a fantastic hike is a canyon in Malibu called Soltice Canyon, with 3 of his friends. Of course, being the "mother" that I am, I made sure he knew that "whenever he goes hiking to take friends, and make sure someone knows where they are!"...He is not a real "outdoors" kind of kid, so this was a wonderful experience for him. When he came home his energy was through the roof, from the beauty of the day, and the experience.
He read me a passage from a book he is reading called WHITE NOISE, that was thought provoking and wonderful. He loves to read to me! It makes me feel like the child. I love it! We both didn't go to sleep until about 2am. A wonderful evening. Hope all of you had a great week end too! Lin

It sounds as though you had so much fun. I did a search on a website for Vanessa Monarch and an official Music profile came up for her so I'm going to do an add to friends so that I can listen to her music.

I will let Vanessa know you are "listening!" What a world...the communication is insane!

Her music is fantastic!

And again It's Friday people so what are the plans for this weekend?

I have another busy weekend - I'm at work tonight and tomorrow and then in the evening I'm going to be at a friends house watching Casino Royale and then on Sunday I'm going to Alton Towers!

all of you have wonderful plans! I bought a little fountain for my garden and will be "putting it together" this weekend. The birds come and take little flutter baths...and I'm going to get some more flowers to pot and put around it. And of course, eat, drink and be merry!!

Oh Lin,
Your evening with your son sounds (for lack of a better word) "perfect".
How cool it is to have your son want to share something he loves with you.
do you sit there sometimes and think "how lucky I am to have him in my life?"

I know I can think of no better feeling, as a parent, than the joy that arises from my heart and soul when my kid "wants" to share his life with me.
When it happens... I swear it is everything you ever dreamed it could be...true perfection.../harmony.

You sit there and for a brief moment tell yourself..."All is right with the world"
I will try to check out Vanessa too.
Glad you had such a nice week and your weekend sounds wonderful too.
Doing some fiming tomorrow and hopefuly able to play tennis on Sunday.

Well I thought I would share with you all my big achievement. I am absolutely petrified of rollercoasters. Well like I said in my previous thread yesterday I went to Alton Towers and I did EVERY SINGLE ROLLERCOASTER!!!!!! One of them I did twice and one I know I will never do again!

I don't know if many people on here know about the rides at Alton Towers so I thought I'd give you a summary of their rides:

The first ride I went on is AIR; You don't sit or have your feet on the ground - you're sat in a chair that then moves so that you're locked in but it's as though you're led on your stomach flying. There is nothing beneath you and at one point you're turned so that you're on your back flying backwards! Now I know how Harry Potter feels - except I didn't have a broomstick. I did this ride twice - once I was in the middle so there were people in front and behind me. The second time I was right at the front so I could see (well I say see it was more of a blur we were going so fast!) everything!

Then there was NEMESIS; You're sat in a chair but your feet are dangling down and it's ina section called Forbidden Valley which is kind of like rocky terrain etc. This ride has G-Forces greater than a space shuttle take off!

The next was RITA: QUEEN OF SPEED; A G-Force of 4.7 - you go faster than a forumla 1 car! She doesn't slow down. Luckily I was sat with my feet on something hard for this one!

There was the CORKSCREW; Which you sit in and you go up, down and side to side - it's a steep drop and double inversions - it's been part of the theme park since 1980!

OBLIVION was the one I was most scared of. You go up 200 feet into the sky and then they hang you on the edge for 3 seconds before you drop with a 4.5G plummet down underground! Apparently its worse than a bungee jump!

SPINBALL WHIZZER; I did a ride like this at Chessington and hated it but ended up doing it again at Alton lol. You sit in a cart like a regular rollercoaster except with this one you spin around as you're going up and down and in circles!

I did the FLUME and the RAPIDS - there isn't much to say about them other than I got very very wet! It's just a normal Log Flume and then a River Rapid ride that you get anywhere!

I also went on a ride called DUEL; it's like a haunted house except you have a blaster and have to rack up points as you fight the ghouls!

Then when I got home a friend and I went to watch Norbit at the cinema! That was a good film!

How was everyone's weekend?

I went there last year i did most of the rides Air was the best one but nobody could get me on oblivion for love nor money it didnt help that it broke down and left everyone hanging for 30 min right on that drop lol that god i wasnt on it coz i would have cried.

One summer when my son was about 11, his Dad, he and I drove "cross country" and went on 10 of the great roller coasters in the U.S....I went on every one, and may I add...if I never go on a roller coster the rest of my life, I am fine!!! My brain is still rattling!!!

One thing I thought of is that by doing all of them I've found out which ones I won't ever do again!

Giz I was worried about Oblivion breaking down because I'd been there twice before and was petrified! We're looking at going to Thorpe Park soon!

Tomorrow is Friday and I have a driving lesson in the morning. On my last driving lesson I learnt to parallel park and got it first time. As it's Easter work is closing early and so that I don't lose out on money I'm working from 2pm-8pm and then I'm going to a friends house afterwards.

What's everyone else got planned?
