This is a very good offering from one of my 8th grade students. Her name is Mykala, but pronounce it My Kayla. That's the way she prefers it be pronounced! ;)
I'm at my first meet
Cuddled in a ball to stay warm
In my sweatclothes cheering us on
I'm about to start the open 100 ... GO!
Everyone's cheering ... 2nd place!
I can do better, I know it
My last race; open 200
I start out fast, everyone's screaming
Now near the end, my legs are numb
I'm so cold, I'm about to cry
I can't help but slow down
NO NO NO! Everyone yelling to keep going!
I try to speed up, to just finish the race
Yes! I did it! 1st Place!
I AM SOOOO COLD!
She is a really good kid, but don't let her know I said that, it will go to her head. :p
