hi everyone. just thought i would be the first to let you know before it has been officially announced that mutant x is cancelled. we are all very sad. dont know when they will make it official, but we have (the cast) been advised that we arent going another season. we are all now trying to go on with our lives and careers, and who knows? this could be an opening of wonderful opportunities for many people. always look at the bright side! /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I loved every minute of Mutant X, especially season three. It is one of my favorite shows. Looking on the bright side as you've said is the way to go. Bigger and better things lay ahead. I hope you and your cast-mates stay in touch and perhaps find yourselves working on another project again soon.

I just looked at someting on the offical Mutant X site. Here's an article saying that the show is renewed for a 4th and 5th season. But I know that Karen whould know if the show is cancelled or not. She does work on the series.

When you were first added to the series I was one of the fans that did not initally like the fact that they changed the cast. For some of us it took a little while to get over the loss of Adam and Emma. But I must truly say that Karen Cliche won me over. That's why I'm saddened to see the series go. Just as we were beginning to love the character it was ripped away from us.

The fan base should be fine. Did you see the ratings that Scott (Sigop) posted? 2 million people he said were watching the show. It was the second highest on the SciFi channel. If those people are willing to fund MX and just need people to sign this thing...and the cast is willing to do it, then lets sign it.

For the past few days I've been hearing talk of Mutant X's cancellation and thought I'd toss my two cents into the fountain...

At first, my reaction was "What the f*%!? Yet another great show to get the axe." But then I really thought about it. Call it an epiphany, brain fart or whatever, but...1) We're lucky we had as many seasons of MX as we did. Not many shows make it to a third season (which really goes without saying) and 2) This will give the cast and crew opportunities to move on to other projects which could be equally as successful (if not more) as MX.

I think we should applaud the entire cast and crew for the tremendous effort they put into the show. Watching an episode from season one followed by an episode from season three clearly indicates how much the show has matured.

I have to give Karen an extra thumbs up for spicing up season three and giving us a character with two parts mystery mixed with three parts beeyotch. /images/graemlins/wink.gif Gutta love it! That's why season three is by-far my favorite.

I have always enjoyed mutant X, bu this season has been so good that i make sure never to miss it. i lock my door, silence my phone, and turn off my laptop. nothing interupts mutant X for me now, and that is becasue of teh wonderful character Lexa. With karens acting skills, she has brough in a new 3 deminaloan character who i care about, and mixs things up. Becuse of her, real issues have been dealt with on the show, and characters, (mainly jesse) have developed.

So i too am grateful that even though Mutant X is cancelled, the fianl season was one of substance, and entertainment. So thank you KAren, for making the last season of mutant X the best one. Talk about going out with a bang!

I loved the second half of season 3, ever since Brother's Keeper, I've loved this season more and more ... because we learn more about the real Lexa, not the girl we saw in Into the Moonless Night. I'm more impressed with the character development because in Season one and two, nothing ever ever happened between the characters. and two boys, two girls, secluded in a mountain and nothing happened! Because Adam was ALWAYS watching, even VP said it in audio commentary on a DVD "no wonder no one got lucky in sanctuary, Adam was always watching" ... lol! but it's true, now I love what they've done with Season 3, and it mostly goes with the big changes and even though I missed Emma to death, Lexa really makes up for the loss. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

With Emma, Eckhart and Adam gone, the introduction of Lexa was a tough thing to do for the writers as well as for Karen. But I think Karen stepped up to the plate and hit a grandslam because she totally nailed the character, and filled that large void that had been left with the departure of the other characters.

Lexa stirs the pot, and because Karen has played her so well you still don't know whether to trust her or not. That's what gives the show an edge.

I agree with all of you. This season has been the best so far. Karen just brought so much to the show as Lexa. She did stir things up a little bit and thickened the plot. They weren't tied down anymore and were more free to do their own things with Adam gone, and I think all of the characters developed some from that. Jesse of course the most. Karen did have a big void to fill when she joined the cast of Mutant X...but I think she did a great job. She did more than anyone could have expected from her as a new cast memeber. She's very talented and pulled it off very well. I'm glad the show is going out with season 3. It was a great season! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I mentioned that some TV channels run three hours late in the TV section. The print schedules for certain cable channels run exactly EST. I think SciFi could fit in MutantX. /images/graemlins/ooo.gif
So since I could only watch MutantX at five AM or four in the afternoon, both times weekends, WGN and 45-KUTP it was hard to get to.
I only viewed the last five months. I guess the final shooting session.

I read a Starlog magazine and it says that Although MX has been renewed for a fourth season, it's future is in jeapordy after the crash of one of its producing companies, though it may come back --- it is extremely unlikely.

I found this on a site this morning, thought it could help - if the company spent themoney on andromeda...darn them. It confirms the possibility of a season 4 though.


Lexa Doig - Andromeda / Rommie on (Andromeda) has confirmed, that Sci-Fi is contributing production money which is one reason they got renewed and Mutant X didn't.
This article brings back the fear that Mutant X will not be returning with new episodes and may just air repeats for the up-comming 04/05 season.
