Friday's Episode 5/11

Ali, let be the first to give you and Bry a standing ovation for the Friday May 11th episode. It was absolutely amazing to watch Lucas & Sami go through the range of emotions - from complete angst to complete bliss. You guys are incredible!

Now about our Lumi: Everything was laid out on the table in this episode, and now I truly believe that nothing will ever tear these two apart. Sure, there might be times when evil villains try, but Mr. & Mrs. Roberts have a bond that cannot and will not be broken. When Lucas called Sami his best friend I was transported back in time, back to when they were best friends so long ago, only now it's even richer because they're lovers, spouses and soulmates. Kudos to the writing team, they "get" Lumi and for the first time in ages I'm truly excited to see what lies ahead for Lucas & Sami.

Ditto! I was so glad to hear Lucas say not once..not twice..but repeatidly RAPE. That's what it was and Sami needs to allow herself to see that! The fact that he took responsiblity that he betrayed her trust and love so many times is huge. Sami was obviously floored by his reaction. They've both ome such a long way and this is just the foundation for the trust they have. I loved Lucas's comments that she was his best friend, his lover, and his wife.

Amazing scenes. Not in my wildest dreams did I think the writers would get Lucas' reaction so perfect. It was like watching a live broadcast of a fan fic. I love that he ackowledged the times he's left her in the past as a reason for her keeping the secret. Fun and romance is great but there's no beating meaningful character growth.

Bryan and Ali were phenomenal but that part was no surprise. :D

Lucas hits the jackpot!!

I have so much to say about this episode, its a bit difficult to arrange my thoughts, so please bear with this message =P

Ok, so when this plot line started [beginning with the rape], i was a bit disappointed cause it seemd like every other sami storyline.
-Sami does something
-Sami keeps it secret
-everything blows up on the wedding day

But now i see the importance of doing it in exactly the same pattern.
Its so that for once, after so many attempts gone wrong, sami can get it right. As if to re-write every wrong ever done to sami.
Like when sami tripped and almost fell when the ceremony ended. At the stan wedding, when running out of church, sami also tripped and fell. This time however, lucas cought her. check. :)

How about sami's parents- usually when things blow up sami gets told off by both roman and marlena, who publicly humiliate her. This time they both stood up for her and told kate to get lost. check! :)

Lucas- well, i think i dont even have to explain whats different this time, eh?
Beyond the obvious, this is the first time Lucas didint go on whining of how much everyone hurt him, instead he was worried about sami and told her not to be upset. check! :D

And the 11th episode, the conversation was for me the claimax.
In a recent debate i wrote a post about how sad it was to see that sami has no doubt that lucas will leave her. And then, Lucas actually brings it up, and actually apologizes for it! :)

I could go on for hours about this so i should stop now before i go to far.
ill just say in conclusion- ya, thats it. Its like every crime commited towards sami by the people she cares about was fixed, all that bad history was re-written. Sami story, different ending. I couldnt be happier =) a 14 year old story has actually come to an end, lol. I wonder how much the next one will take :rolleyes:

Absolute perfection. Those scenes were stunning and kudos all around. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter for Sami and Lucas now that they've reached this level of trust and commitment. Nothing is ever smooth sailing in daytime but I don't believe anything can stop those two.

If you want to know what I think, just go back and re-read the posts above me, because they pretty much said it all. I can't tell you how amazing this week has been, finally culminating with today's episode (that I actually watched from clips last night, thanks Norma! but will watch again today, live) Just such amazing performances and so perfectly written! Thank you! I literally went from a so-so Lumi fan, to a pretty devoted Lumi, to, after this week, DIE HARD! :D Just as Lumi are forever cemented into each other's hearts, so are they cemented into mine, LoL. What a perfect ending to a chapter of their lives, and what a beautiful beginning to the next! I know for some people it seems unbelievable, or too little too late, but for me, someone that wasn't always a devoted Lumi fan, it was perfection, and it was totally enough, more than enough really... I have cried I think, every day this week, and that hasn't happened (over a soap) in I can't remember how long! So Bravo to Ali, Bryan, Mr. Sheffer, and all those involved, along with a great big hearty Thank You, for putting on a show this week that has made me excited about watching again ... I am really looking forward to all the adventures to come! YAY Mr. and Mrs. Roberts! :D

Well, the NBC site had a scroll up that said we'd see them on 5/11 but we never did. I'm not sure if it was a publicity thing or perhaps Bryan's illness made it necessary to cut some scenes (which would be totally understandable!) to save time. Maybe Ali can answer that for us? **wink wink nudge nudge hint hint**

And this isn't the end...it's only the beginning ;)

Let me say I absolutely LOVED the LUMI scenes yesterday. It was like Bryan was saying all the things he had been waiting for Lucas to say to Sami and he was really enjoying that he finally got to say them. It is about time they both realize their faults and now they are even stronger as a couple. I also agree with everyone that it was fantastic that Lucas kept saying rape and is helping Sami know that it was not her fault. He knows what she did was for him and came out of a place of unconditional love. here is a huge thank you to the writers who finally gave us the scenes that we have been waiting for. These characters finally got the closure and forgiveness from each other they have been waiting for, and they now have the beginning of a fantastic marriage. Thank you Ali for your fantastic work, I could see you were enjoying acting those scenes because you know how much it needed to be said. In a way Kate putting the picture up made LUMI even stronger because now everything is out in the open and they have a bond that is phenominal. Fantastic acting by everyone, we got our Lumi wedding and it was perfect.

Everyone has already said what I was thinking and feeling as I watched the episode, but I wanted to second (third, fourth, tenth...) it! It was the day we've all been waiting for a long time!! I haven't been able to watch much lately and was so excited about this week, I had to TiVo it and I'm so glad that I did!! It was perfect. I especially loved it when Lucas acknowledged why Sami would be so afraid to tell him and helping her realize that she is not at fault, what EJ did was wrong! So excited to catch more this summer!!
