From our local NBC station web page:

Briefly - Oscar lives at a nursing home in Rhode Island and appears to have the ability to sense when people are close to death. I don't believe it's a sad story by any means - just another example of how special the animals of this world are.

That's a really cool story! If animals can sense when their owners are coming home when they are still miles away, then they certainly can sense other things too.
I wonder what would happen if Oscar would just one day go and curl up next to a nurse sitting at her work station  :p
Wonderful story Carol...
Uncanny how our animal friends know us so well.
Thanks for sharing,

What a great story. The advance notice, if you will, that Oscar provides to those whose time is limited, can make a world of difference to a loved one's family, who can come to the home to say their goodbyes after being notified Oscar has gotten beside a patient. He certainly sounds to be an amazing animal.
Thanks for sharing this story, Carol.

I saw that on the national news & read the story in the paper. That is so great (if you think about it) that he gives relatives time to come and say their final goodbyes.
