Just so we're all clear - only 6 of those things K2 listed are actually true. And one of them most certainly is NOT that I smoke. I absolutely abhor smoking and he knows it. Hopefully that provides perspective on some of his other 'getting-to-know-Ali-isms'.
But I was LMAO reading the list. He cracks me up.
GO LAKERS!!!

LOL I thought a few of those sounded fishy. ESP the tatoo LOL
Isn't smoking the worst!! I can't understand these people who do it. I saw a great poster one day. It showed a 'charred' woman and it said "Would you smoke if it did to the outside what it does on the inside"
Actually it kinda looked like 'Swamp Girl' aka Greta /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You go Ali!!!
You know Ali, you always force feed K2 sauerkraut or some fine lutefisk. ( I would need to a mask on to buy it. Perhaps Marlena can loan me hers. Lutefisk is a Norwegian-American delicacy that is codfish soaked in lye. I do not go near the stuff.)

Lutefisk is BAD news. IT is about as bad as Rommegrot. What gets me is you can tell the difference between German Lutheran and Norwegian lutheran churches up here in the fall when a lot of churches have their fall bazaars and harvest dinners. The Germans have Brats and Norwegians have Lutefisk.
I think I will stick with Knoepfla soup and Flieschkiechla.

Glad to hear you don't smoke Ali! Anybody know what the above quote is from?
Lutefisk is actually pretty good, although it depends on where you buy it. Store bought - yuck, privately bought - pretty good. It smells harsh and stuff, but it's actually quite good. And I HATE fish, except salmon.

Hi Ali,
I thought the smoking thing sounded fishy. Hope your doing well and your Lakers treat you properly. I remember when the Celtics were on top and that was a great feeling for everyone in Boston at the time. Of course, we suck now but we have good memories /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the clarification Ali. I recently found out a guy that I went out with a few times and was very interested in smokes. Since then I have distanced myself away from him.

LOL, now come on Ali. The one about Cabbage Patch Kids and leg warmers has to be true. We all went through that phase. When I was a wee little tike, Cabbage Patch Kids were a must have. The funny thing is, I had a Cabbage Patch Kid that wore leg warmers. It was part of some exercise outfit or something. I think I still have one buried in the attic somewhere. What was her name? GINGER MARIE! That's it. You never forget your first Cabbage Patch kid.

Vilkommen Linn!!
North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa have a high percentage of people who have Norwegian ancestry living in these parts. I do like lefse. I have a friend who makes Tacos with them and calls them Uff-da Tacos!
Another Norwegian delicacy that is popular in this area at holiday times are Rosettes, Krumkake and Sundbakkels. Flatbrot is good too.

Ummm was there something wrong with having as many leg warmers as you had cabbage patch dolls? I mean they had to be matching accesories right? Along with the banana clip you had in your hair...pink leg warmers, pink dress on the doll, pink banana clip...to go along with your pegged jeans and LA Gear shoes right?
I am such a product of the 80's...
And Mellie my CPK was named Thibble Jones...it was a girl, what kind of name is that? I'm jealous that yours had a real name.

I have long distance family members in Minnesota. Lefse is fantabolous! My grandma makes the best you'd EVER be so lucky as to taste. Ends are kinda crispy and lotsa yummy inside it. Your friend uses Norwegian dessert lefse to make tacos. I just use tortillias.
Another Norwegian delicacy that is popular in this area at holiday times are Rosettes, Krumkake and Sundbakkels. Flatbrot is good too.
Krumkake --- not too fond of it. It's a taste thing. People hate it or love it. I come from a cake family [seriously, when we have parties, there is like a friggin cake for each and everyone.
Flatbrod --- very good with "Spekemat", which is different sorts of meat, and grøt. Which is like oatmeal, only finer and fuller.
Interesting that you know so much about Norway! A tip, try making Salmon Norwegian style. I'll send you a recipe if you want. It's DELICIOUS!
