woo hoo!!! This has been such a long week...we've been so busy at days lately. We were shooting until 4am Sunday morning! Bry, James and I started the shooting day doing regular scenes in the studio. When I got to work the rain was coming down so hard, it was torrential. Being from Southern California, I don’t deal with the rain that often. And unfortunately, neither do the nbc drains. Because the parking lot had turned into a raging river by the time I arrived. I literally had to wade up to the studio, fighting the current, in water up to my knees. It was INSANE! And Hilarious. I wish I had a camera with me. The weirdest part was by the time James got to set, the rain had stopped, so he really didn’t know what I was talking about. Julie (Billie) and I were really the only ones who saw the overflow at it’s worst.
they started shooting outside later in the evening, and I had a break while they were shooting other scenes. So I got to come home, play with Ben for a bit, read him some stories and put him to bed. Then Dave and I watched most of Silence of the Lambs. Which is such a good, disturbing movie. I haven't seen it in so long, I'd forgotten all these little details that scare the **** out of you! lol. Anyway, I didn't head back to the studio until like 10:30pm! And, there we were, (In retrospect, I shouldn’t have told Bry about seeing that movie because he kept quoting it, and sneaking up on me to scare me. I’m jumpy anyway – at 2:30am, I’m an easy target! ) outside (luckily it had stopped raining) shooting until almost 4.

That is crazy! I'm used to rain here in Ohio so our drains work pretty good. I remember our street used to flood when I was around 5 or so and us kids used to love to go out and play in it - now I cringe at the thought of playing in a flooded street! The rain was probably a little cleaner 25 years ago too ;)

Wow - sounds like you, James, and Bryan have been busy. I'll admit, I haven't watched DOOL or even clips since around the steam room part and from what I've seen of spoilers I probably won't be. I understand the need for drama and change in daytime but I honestly feel as if I'm not watching the Sami I love. Sure, she's matured and I encourage that but I feel like she's lost part of her spark along the way. The Dimera's say to marry EJ. So? The Sami I love would find a way around it to kick the Dimera's in the pants. I feel like Sami is kind of rolling over and saying OKAY if this is what I have to do so be it.

Anyways, I'm glad you found time to hang at home. I love scary movies! (Did you see the new Halloween? I thought it was bad. The only saving grace in that movie was the young boy who played Michael Myers. He was creepier than the adult version! I much prefer the original.) Silence of the Lambs is definitely a classic. I don't normallly creep out but when I'm at work (in a hospital) at 10 in the evening and go downstairs for a coke or something I totally start thinking about Halloween 2 when Michael is running around the empty hospital. Fortunately, I haven't run into him yet!

I can't wait until I can read to little Summer. I do read to her but she's only 10 weeks so she doesn't "get it" Her new favorite toy is (of course from Aunt Amanda) a Leap Frog Gym that plays songs from around the world - as well as teachers 5 languages. She lays there forever and laughs and grins. I'm just that good;)

I want to like Sami but the writers are making it really hard these days. I know she feels it's her "destiny" to end the *feud* for the Bradys but she has another family- a husband and son- who seem to be after thoughts in the whole thing. The Sami I know and love would never give them up without a fight. :(

hey guys - let's keep this thread to positive stuff, huh? I come here to hang out, check in and say 'hi'. I understand your frustrations, and I know you post and debate them in other threads, but I really have to stay out of that conversation. I would love to stick to the 'if you don't have something nice to say..." policy on the threads i initiate.

And, do remember to consider, that we actors are not TPTB, and we're all just busting our butts to do the best work we can. :D

As always, I love you guys, and truly value and appreciate your support.

Sorry, Ali - most of us do realize you are all doing your job and have no say in the matter. I don't think any of us meant disrespect to you, James, Bryan or anyone else. So we stay positive - who wants to hear more stories about my beautiful little niece!! ;)

I think Ali would just prefer that we do it in other threads - I'm sure she reads those - and keep her threads that she starts about more mundane things :) I'm sure she knows how lumi and ejami and plain sami fans feel right now. We know she always keeps abreast of the buzz;)

Hi, Ali!

Just wanted to say how much I have been enjoying your current storyline on Days. I'm really sad that the Colleen & Santo scenes are coming to an end this next week. I know each and every fan has his/her own opinion, but I wanted to throw mine into the mix! :)

I can't imagine how much you've had to work lately with the dual roles, but the Brady vs. DiMera storyline really brought me back to watching Days on a regular basis. I've watched Days most of my 29 years, but I haven't watched the show too much recently until the past few months. I'm kicking myself that I missed the early Sami & E.J. scenes...oh, well.

Anyway, I so enjoy your work with Bryan and James; you are quite the lucky lady! :)

Best wishes to you & your family always!

P.S. I recently read your book a couple of Sundays ago; I couldn't put it down. The message was so inspiring!

I don't think anyone has a problem with the actors' work, but as long time Ali and Sami fans, we are worried about how the character is being written. It just shows how much we respect and love you that we do worry.

Hey Ali,
I'm from Bufalo so rain is kind of like the norm.. as is snow.
have you ever been in a snow storm where the snow acumulated to over 8 feet???
You haven't lived til you have... talk about 'wading".

Would have given my right arm to see you go through that parking lot..
How come we never have a camera around when we need them then they show up when we don't???

Silence of the Lambs???? You are brave...
Charlotte's Web is more my speed... I mean the drama and suspense when Templeton is searching for that name is harrowing:p:D

Glad you were able to spend time with Ben and dave. Your schedule sounds nuts... but exciting.. I really hope it is everything you want and dreamed it would be.
Your work on both shows has been first rate.

Thanks for stopping by and making my night.;)
Always,
Vicky

I want to thank everyone here because when I come and read all of these post most of them make me laugh! And especially today because 6 years ago to the day I lost my mom and I'm only 18 so when I get to read these on such a sad day it makes my day a little bit better! So Thank you!

Ali, what a crazy ordeal to get to the studio! I can't believe how hard you are working and what an amazing job you always manage to do given how tired you must be. Us fans would never know it - you always look so beautiful and you always give every performance your best and that's why so many of us have been Ali fans and Sami fans for many, many years.

Days has been really amazing since Ed Scott joined and I'm just loving all the performances so much now. Everyone seems to be bringing their A-game these days and I just have to say bravo to all of you. I love the little things that I'm noticing too - the lighting, for one, the return of flashbacks, the little set up pictures before certain scenes (Vegas strip pic before Vegas scenes, plane pic before scenes in the plane and that kind of thing) and the close-ups really change the feel of a scene too. I have to say that I'm excited about Days again for the first time in quite awhile. I think I'm starting to see a glimpse of the old Sami again too and I'm thrilled! Your performance makes me love Sami no matter how she is written though - Sami's spunk is always there.

Silence of the Lambs always creeps me out - especially the very last scene! *shudder* It was really well done though and Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins are fantastic.

I like the sound of you guys shooting outside - I'm curious what sort of outdoor scenes they will be.

Thanks so much for posting and keeping us in the loop of what you are up to! :)

WOW Ali! Shooting til 4 am. What a schedule! I don't see how in the world you do it all between Days, TBL, being with your family, and not to mention all of the other millions of things you do such as interviews and charity events. You even make time to stop by here and say hello to your fans - Which we love. :D You are such an inspiration to me and I'm sure to others as well. Whenever I think I don't have enough hours in the day, I think of you, LOL. Great job, you are a fantastic lady!

xoxo,
Sherri :)

LOL about the rain. Hope you didn't get to soaked in it. I know I've been caught a few times in rain like that without an unbrella I was soaked LOL

Got to say I'm loving everything about Days and love the changes. Ed Scott is just as amazing as I kept reading from the cast. I'm going to miss the Santo and Colleen storyline. Love the accents you both learned and the romance of it all. DiMera's well always loved them. LOL Everyone has been amazing though on the show and I am liking all the storylines going on or starting to get interested in every group. I can't wait to see more of everyone. Bravo to the cast and crew you all are doing an amazing job. I've noticed the little changes along with the bigger ones and they all have brought the show to a whole new level. I've watched the show my whole life and its the best its been in yrs right now. So send my Thanks to everyone and to keep up the hard work you are doing on the set.

How in the world do you do Ali. Good that you got to go home and play with your son and watch a movie. Good movie by the way. Can't wait to see these scenes I guess just be looking for outside scenes LOL. When do you find time to sleep with all the stuff you have going on though. I would fall over with just a small percent of all you have been doing the few months.

Hi Ali,
It seemed like you had a busy day, but it was nice to hear that you spent some time with Dave and Ben before going back to work.

The Silence of the Lambs movie, i've seen it so many times, and seriously, it sometimes scares me with those insects found inside the dead people's mouths. Thats just sick man. But it was a great movie and so was the storyline. Great acting from both Jodie Foster and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Have you seen the second movie? I've only seen it once but don't really remember the story cause i watched it a long time ago. But it was a good movie.

Ali, i personally would like to thank you for making DOOL the best show ever, together with James and Bryan. You are all great actors and your storylines are great, im loving every bit of it, so keep up the good work!:)
Regards

Until I started visiting fan sites I never realized the work that went into your job day in and day out. I have a new respect for all of the actors. I love reading your blogs. My grandson is exactly the same age as Ben and they are at such an adorable age right now. Did he pick out his Halloween costume yet?

Wow. Shooting till 4 a.m. on a Sunday?!

Really makes me appreciate even more all the hard work that everyone at DOOL is putting into making this a great show, and I want you to know I think that hard work is really showing up on screen because I am loving it right now.

Also, thanks Ali for taking time out from your super busy schedule to share what's going on with your fans. And I saw somewhere else today that you are coming back for a spring season of TBL so congratulations on that! I don't know how you do it all.

It was really raining on Friday and we had thunder and lightning also. On Saturday, right when I was leaving for my appointment it started pouring and then stopped. It wasn't raining on Sunday, so that was great because I have to go up a mountain to church. I have to admit L.A. really needed the rain.

It sounds like Days has gotten a lot better. I have missed some episodes because of work and my VCR died. I really need to get DVR or TVIO plus buy a DVD/VCR Combo for my room. I may also request for Soap Net considering I could watch Days on Sunday evenings.

Charlotte's Web is a touching film and I also read the book when I was younger. That movie makes me cry with the music, Charlotte dying, Wilbur grieving the loss of Charlotte and Fern because she leaves him for a guy, and the spiders leaving Wilbur at the end except for three. Wilbur's message to Charlotte also is touching.

Hi Ali,
I'm new at this so sorry if I mess up some. I'm a big fan of yours. I enjoy the sortylines your in. Playing Sami has to be fun and hard. But you yourself are just so sweet! I like your website. I'm use to the rain up here in Minnesota. I just moved from SE Mn back to the twin cities but a few days before the move it rain so hard and so much the roads flooded! It was crazy roads actully got shut down. There was only 1 road open to get in or out of town. But it was fun too. my boyfriend and I played in the rain.:) Silence of the lambs is a good movie. I like getting a little scared now and than. I hope you have a great day, Lynette

Hi Ali,

Thats funny about the parking lot flooding, i live in Oregon you would think im use to the rain but i'm not lol but i have to say when it rains so hard and fast that streets and parking lots flood its always a "wow" moment.

I didnt realize you guys worked so late!! I can't wait to see the scene's filmed outside!!

I love Days and Sami and can't wait to see how all these s/l's go.

Were those producers making up for that relaxing birthday you had?? LOL. Big ol' meanies. :p

But thanks for all your hard work, and please pass that sentiment along to your co-workers. The time and effort everyone has been putting into the show since ES arrived has been more than apparent, and your fans appreciate it! I've been glued to my screen throughout the Brady/DiMera storyline this summer, and I've LOVED your dual roles.

I'm not much of a horror movie chick, but SOTL is a crazy good movie. But I pretty much worship Jodie Foster, so it's kind of a given...

Thanks for the update, Ali!!

Hey Ali,

To start of I got to say thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule, to check in with us, its much appreciated. I am loving all the work that is being put into Days right now.And working until 4 am! Just want to let you know that your dedication and your hard work has been paying off for all of you on DOOL. I am really enjoying the show and look forward to the future storylines that are coming up. I have to give you all at DOOL a HUGE applause for the outstanding performances everybody has being giving.Thank you for entertaining me.

Being from Southern California also, it was raining too. Saturday it only rained for a little while though, but since it had been HOT the last weeks of summer, I say it was much needed.:D
So how is Ben? He is so ADORABLE.

Hi Ali!

It's so cool that you find the time to blog. Your schedule must be crazy with the Biggest Loser and Days!

I've been loving every moment of Sami's storyline. And I cannot wait to see how things progress. It's exciting for me to watch.

I've also been a huge fan of the Santo and Colleen story. You've done a wonderful job bringing Colleen's character to life. I'll be shedding a few tears when she goes away. :(

Silence of the Lambs huh? That's one of my favorite movies ever. But I must admit, no matter how many times I've seen it, I'm still on the edge of my seat and Anthony Hopkins still manages to creep me out.

BTW, your son Ben is so adorable! What a sweetie.

Take care and thanks for keeping in touch with your fans.

:) Miou

I always love hearing what you're up to! Days has been getting better and better, my only beef is that the Colleen and Santo story is coming to that dreaded end! :( *SNIFF* I have just been in awe of the work you and James have been doing. I was worried at first that I would just see Sami & EJ playing dress up but I haven't. I totally fell in love with the story and the characters. Let me just say that the first real love scene between Santo & Colleen was OMG  hotter than the fireplace you were sitting next to! If you guys could bottle the spark from that scene, you'd end the need for marriage counselors everywhere! Kudos to you and James for putting so much into this story!! I'm not leaving Bryan out either, I have feeling that he is going to have some truly amazing scenes coming up. The dynamic you & Bryan have when playing Sami & Lucas (of course) when there is conflict in the relationship is so amazing and powerful. I just can't wait, I almost feel like the "old" Sami is coming back but I think Sami is turning into a woman like we've never seen. I just love ya Ali & Sami is my favorite, I can't wait to see all this play out!!

Thanks for posting!
Jane

Edit: I was so excited about replying to you about DOOL I forgot to say how much I'm enjoying you on BL this year! GREAT JOB! I really love you as the host, you come across as so genuine with the contestants. Nothing against Carolyn Rhea (she's hilarious) but I just never felt like she was very involved but reading your blogs and now seeing you with the contestants, I know you really care about their struggle and it comes across the screen that way too. You're a sweet lady & they are lucky to have you on their side!

I was watching youtube and downloaded i honestly don't know wat the clips was called but i thought bryan was amazin in the scene with christie i felt sorry for lucas! [Lucas was tryin so hard to keep their relationship, but carries' face priceless.] For the first time. In a long time [i honestly have nothing against bryan] but lucas is a mamas boy big time !! The only movie i ever found scary was a movie called "IF " ITS about a clown need i say more its so creep that it still bugs me up to this day . i was 12 @ the time! Wen i watched it.

I'm so impressed that with all you have going on in your life, you find time to come and share your feelings and give us a glimpse into your world :D

I've loved your work as Colleen and as Sami, and I'm love seeing that spark of the old take-no-prisoners-do whatever-it-takes Sami that I've loved for such a long time....I'm sad that the flashbacks are coming to an end, and I'm prepared with a big box of Kleenex for the scenes coming up ;)

SOTL is such a good movie, and I can picture Bryan teasing you....it must be such a blast to work with him and James....you have the best of both worlds with those two :D

My husband and I have been completely hooked on this season's BL and it's such an inspiration for us to get healthy and get moving, so thank you for that :)

Keep up the good work!

hey guys - let's keep this thread to positive stuff, huh? I come here to hang out, check in and say 'hi'. ...

I couldn't agree with you more, Ali. I just want to say that I've been so impressed with your dual role in Days the past several months, and like so many others from Forbidden Love, I hate to see the Santeen story come to an end. I can't recall a more passionate, sensitive, love story portrayed on television ~ including prime time. Your performances have been brilliant! You, Bry and James HAVE been working your butts off and we all appreciate it so much. I am SO looking forward to the birth of the twins and what the future holds in store for the residents of Salem.

A Fan,

Ali,

I finally registered just so I could tell you how much I enjoy watching you daily on Days, and how much I enjoy your scenes with both of your "men". I am sorry when people tell you they don't watch the show because they don't like what is going on. A true fan sticks it out to ride the ride with you.
I have always been a huge Lumi fan, but EJami is too hot to ignore. No matter who you are with, as long as the story is good and the flirting is there and the passion is heating up, it is worth watching. What else is a daytime soap for? As an escape from reality, you can't get any better than Days. I am enjoying the show and hope that the pace continues!
Thanks for all of your work and dedication and for working til 4am but still having fun! It may be rough, but it sounds like such an exciting job!
We love you and appreciate you take the time for us!

ps-Still jealous that you get to work with someone as gorgeous as James Scott!

I just wanted to say what an awesome job you've done over the last 3 months on Days Ali. I was very impressed with your portrayal of Colleen. You did a great job with the Irish accent. As always, brilliant job portraying Sami.

As a person living in an area that gets rain often, you never get used to it.
