Hi there!
I was just wondering why my thread got deleted that I made yesterday? I posted the pics from the "JEZEBEL"-magazine on Alyssa but now all of a sudden it doesn't exist anymore. I'd really appreciate an explanation for that, so I don't have to feel like the criminal of the month/very stupid or something.
Of course you can delete this thread of mine too; and pm me the answer to why my thread got deleted. I'd really appreciate it so thanx!
If I did anything wrong; then why don't they post the pictures to the new magazines Alyssa is in on Alyssa's official magazine-gallery then? Or that one isn't supposed to be updated anymore?
Thanx for your help!
All the best,
Ann

Hi,
I didn't see the pics but if you say you took them from a magazine I'd guess... Copyright?
Maybe you should also read Vick's sticky about posting pics. This could be the answer.

hey guys I believe this is the reason
Pics from magazines are the legal property of the magazine so its not really legal to post them without permission from the magazine itself. I know a lot of independent message boards and a number of fansites post such pics but here (The official site) they need to be more dilligent in not allowing such posts.
I'm sure one of the mods can explain better

Ok, I understand this of course. But why wasn't my "Orange Coast"-scans deleted then?

Hi Ann,
Seb and Gary are correct. We don't allow the posting of scanned magazine articles/photos on CL due to the fact that the copyright to those articles and photos belong to the magazine in which they are from. Posting scans of them without express permission from the copyright holder (in this case, Jezebel Magazine) is violation of copyright law.
If you come across an interview of Alyssa in a magazine and wish to retype the entire (or partial) interview, giving complete credit to the author of the article and the magazine or source where it originated, we do allow that. It's just the scans of the interview(s) and/or photos which we don't allow.
There are some magazine scans located in the photo galleries of our celebrity clients' websites and for those particular scans, CL has secured the necessary permission to have those in the galleries, etc. That is not always possible which is why not every interview and magazine photo shoot that Alyssa does is able to be scanned in her photo galleries.
As for your "Orange Coast" thread which also contains scans, it would appear we simply overlooked it. I'm afraid, for the same reasons above, that thread will have to be moved off of Alyssa's forum.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience and if you have any further questions, please feel free to send myself or any moderator a private message.
Thanks for understanding.

Oh ok; I thought you could post scans if you wrote which magazine it was from. So sorry; I missunderstood it! :S So you are aloud to post covers of magazines but not the articles to them then? I assume so as there's so many fan websites out there on celebrities who has hundreds of covers. So I doubt that they've been able to ask every single one of those magazines if they are aloud to have them up there. :S

Fan websites using magazine cover pictures engage in the same illegalities. No part of a magazine may be reproduced for any reason without permission from the publisher and in many instances the photographer.
Fan sites do not set the standard... they abuse standards on a frequent basis. We must be a bit more stringent in what we allow because we represent celebrities on an official basis. It is part of our obligation to protect intellectual property rights of celebrities we represent. We go a bit further because it is the right thing to do, even for those celebrities we may not represent. We set high standards others would do well to follow.
No problem with your previous thread; we understand it was an honest mistake. When in doubt, from now on, contact one of the moderators or me for clarification on what you can post. :)

Thanx for your comments Feles!
I can understand that no magazine wants their issues to be published anywhere without their permission. Although doesn't fans posting covers of diffrent celebrities on their websites help them become more wellknown so they might sell more issues that way? It feels a little unfair that those fans are made up to be such criminals when all they really wanna do is just to show just how loved and appreciated their favourite celebrity really is around the world. It's also a chance to share what you have for others to be able to obtain it themselves.
So what is your advice to me Feles? I have over 500 magazine covers on Alyssa that I'd really love to be able to do a website with someday (like others have done with Madonna for instance), it would be so cool to be able to make a memorabilia-website on Alyssa and make it as complete as possible. But would I have to write and ask each and every one of those magazines if I'm aloud to post a picture of one of their issues first? What about those magazines that doesn't exist anymore? And what about those who doesn't answer me?
Would I be able to do a website like that on a legal way? Or it's just something I've been dreaming about to do in vain then?
