My acting auditions

Hey guys!! OMG I just wanted to tell you guys my awesome news! or at least I hope it's awesome for you :p cuz it is for me!!

I went to my first open call on sunday for Christina Wright who is a talent agent, and this one guy who runs A.C.T. : Academy of Cinema and Television.

It was the most exhilerating thing I have ever done in my life. FirstI had to meet with the guy, and interview with him. I don't know if he was just being nice but he told me that he could see me doing a show like Ghost Whisperer (a lot of people tell me I look like Jennifer Love Hewitt, so it was cool that he made that connection) He also said that I have depth. But the coolest thing was that when i was reading his bio....he's had some of his people on Charmed!

After I had the interview I had to do a cold read for a Pepsi Commercial on a big screen in front of like 200 people in the same room. Christina Wright was sitting next to the camera for everyone's cold read taking notes. After I was done she was like "WoW" with a huge smile on her face. It made me feel so great!

But I have two questions for anyone who can answer them...

How long does it take for someone to hear back for a "call back"?

Also, Do you think that both people were just being nice when they said those things to me? because I don't think they would've said those specific things if I was just "ok" but I could be wrong! :P

It sounds like you had a very positive experience. I'm far from an expert, but I would assume that perhaps if an audition wasn't satisfactory, that they would be polite and not overly excited. Perhaps Lin will shed a little more light for you ;)

I do hope that only the best comes out of this for you! Know that we are behind you 110%, wishing you luck and success with this opportunity. We will support you and nourish your ambition and drive for whatever you choose to do. Do not give up your dreams and keep working until you find what you are looking for.

Awww Zoee!!

That's like the most exciting response I've gotten from anyone! (out of my friends and family!) Thanks so much for all of your kind words! and I do hope that Lin sees this so maybe she can, as you said, shed some light on the situation. It's great to know that you and everyone else here are backing me all the way! Thanks for the good luck...cuz I'm going to need it! :)

This one might be a little unique being on the web, but you can create families, just as you can be born into one. We've chosen you and you have chosen us. It's a gift we all get to share together, and that includes sharing in your triumphs, your happy and exciting moments, and even the tough ones that hurt you. We're here for everything and it brings me great happiness to be able to encourage someone else, just the way I was encouraged to follow my dreams of what I wanted to do at university ;)

OK, so I was talking to my friends cousin and it turns out she went on the audition as well! and they asked the guy when the woman would call, and he said that she would call to let people know...in 2 weeks. so now I just have to wait for next sunday!

Awesome Sammy! I just saw this. A few things. Don't EVER loose the energy and joy you got from this experience no matter how it turns out. Just remember, there will be many many more to nourish you! It sounds like you really did great, and that what was said was "real." But also know, often you can do amazing auditions, even be "the best one," and still not get the job. There are so many factors that are taken into consideration. After a really positive experience, I always write a note thanking casting and/or producers, etc. for the "opportunity." Not a "I hope I get it note," but more like what you said to us, how exhilerating it was, and how much fun you had with the experience and meeting them. I agree with everything our little guru Zoe said to you as well! Keep on going! This is just the beginning, and if you love it, enough said. You usually don't hear if "you don't get it." I am hoping and sending "good vibes," but if this one doesn't work out, take this positive experiece and let it carry you to more...and if you DO, than we will all hear you screaming and you will hear all of us yelling CON-GRAT--UUUUUUU-LA---TIONSSSSSSSS SAMMMMMMMY!!!

Yea thats a good idea to write a note!! thanking them for the opportunity and stuff.....but I don't have anyone's address! lol so i guess that won't work! :)

Just to let you know Lin, You sound like my mom...and my grandmother combined..which is definitely a good thing! (in case you were wondering) because at seperate times throughout this week and last week, they were both like "even if you don't get it.....this experience is still a positive one...and at least you will have gained the experience of going on an open call so you know what to expect next time!" SO I think it's neat that you said the same thing to me Lin! :)

Also, thank you for sending me GoOd ViBeS!! I can always use them! I'll write back in two days....if I hear :) ..and if I don't :( lol
