As much as I adored the LUMI/TWINS scenes today - I do have a problem with some of Lucas's dialogue. I'm okay with the EJ isn't the one you were supposed to move on with because I do - as I've explained - think that was a no brainer seeing as EJ was the reason he felt he had to protect them and went to jail. I do have a problem with some of his remarks - you slept with another man etc. etc. In that context, he DID tell her to move on with "another man" Sami really does need to get her story straight as well. I agree it's frustrating to both men when she says I have feelings for EJ, I don't love EJ, blah blah. That's not fair to either of them. Of course, I'm sure LUMI will prevail ;) but I really hope Lucas sticks to his guns this time and doesn't let her kiss him back. i think it needs to go slow. Sami needs to straighten her own thoughts out. Honestly, she was forced to divorce Lucas and marry EJ and then thrown into that life with him - changing fathers with her kids suddenly - it's enough to confuse anyone and I think Sami has all sorts of insane feelings. I'd actually like to see her single - living by herself with the twins for a bit so that she can sort things out.

I am REALLY disappointed that she is right back on the Lumi band wagon. I know that Lucas is her default button. I know that pleading and begging to be with Lucas is her default. But what I was hoping for? Sami to say SHE needs time. That SHE isn't sure what she wants or where her fellings are. To take time out, back away from both of them and have THEM jumping for her. For her to observe, take some time out and think what Sami really wants and who she is the happiest with. Which in the end? Will most certainly be EJ. ;)

But here we go, right back into the Lucas please forgive me. Lucas I need you, he is mean and berates her as she begs for unserstanding. Mean! While the man that loves her as is...flaws and all, that has turned his back on everything and anything he has ever known for her, is being crushed. The one that will walk away, give her time, respect her, understand her, doing anything for her and BOTH of her children? Is being hit below the belt while she goes running after the one that treats her like ****, is always pushing for her to change who and what she is, the one that only awknowledges ONE of her babies...Lucas.

I hate what happens to the character of Sami when she is with Lucas. I HATE IT and it makes me really sad for my girl.

I knew her default Lucas setting with all the tears and begging was going to kick in...But I was really hoping that she would of taken some time to really re-evaluate herself, her feelings and how she feels when she is around the different ment. After that? IMO The choice would be clear, EJ!

THEN we could move on in this story line to the good stuff. EJ and Sami manipultaing the "good people" of Salem and causing some great soap conflict TOGETHER! :p

Although I may disagree with you on who is the best man for Sami. I do wish she would of taken time out to really do some self evaluating.

I agree -with the last line;) Hey, I'm a Lucas fan but I'm a Sami fan too - I do feel that the writers are making him too harsh right now. I've always wanted Sami to lay off the man begging for years and to let them come after her. She has always been begging for someone - Lucas, Austin, Franco, Brandon - she always seems so insecure as if she must beg for attention. I'd love to see her overcome that.

I agree with everything you have said 100% Shakabigfoot. I also would love to see Sami to stop begging for the wrong guys...in this case, its Lucas. What i think she should do, and i agree with both Shaka and Mander is that Sami needs to take time out for herself, and start making a decision with which man she wants to spend her life with, someone who loves her and would do anything for her, someone who respects her, someone who will not make her cry, someone who wants her to be herself and not someone else, etc. Soon when she realises which man does all those things above that i mentioned, it is definitely going to be EJ, and thats' when she gets rid of Lucas once and for all.

Also, during the time when she is on her own and thinking over this, i would like to see Allie getting sick (i don't mean it that way) but something to make her go to the hospital and then to have her parents to do some blood test or something like that, that way, when Sami and Lucas do the blood test, it won't match Allie's blood, so, when EJ does the blood test, it will definitely match Allie's blood, that is the time when all three will know who the real father is for Allie, and that is EJ. This would make Sami 100% choose EJ over Lucas. The reasons for this is because Sami will have two kids from the same father and one kid from the other, and EJ is the one with two kids, so of course, she would be choosing the one which she shares more kids with and not the least one. At the end, it would be EJAMI and the twins living happily ever after, and then we would see more great storylines for all four of them............without Lucas of course.

I do hope that eventually they choose to give the twins the same father - Lucas of course:D - seriously, I've thought from the day they suggested it was possible that having 2 fathers for twins was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard - and Days has come up with some dooseys. I can't say that I agree she would choose based on the person she has the most children with - that should have the least influence imo. She should be choosing on her feelings not on chance.

I agree with you Mander, that its stupid to have 2 fathers for the twins, but then, the writers are making the two fanbases (EJAMI and LUMI) happy. If only they make EJ as the father for both twins, then that would be great :).

As for Sami choosing the man that she shares more kids with, that would be definitely EJ, just give it time Mander, sooner, those twins are gonna become EJ's and Lucas will be out of the picture for life :D. Also, i agree a bit with you that Sami should choose the man that she has feelings for, right now, Sami has feelings for EJ, but still convinces herself and Lucas that she is in love with him (Lucas), but we all know that love has died ages ago, when he went to prison.

Nothing about the show is making sense to me right now. Sami has the hottest sex of her life and she jumps right out of bed with EJ and starts groveling to Lucas and that's all we've seen since Lucas came back. Lucas calling her a whore was particularly sweet. I've always said I don't have a problem with Lucas on his own but this writing is making me resent the fact that they brought the character back. I like that they seem to be trying to give him a storyline outside of Sami finally but I'm so tired of the forced Lumi stuff being thrown at us again and I don't think I'm alone given how much the ratings have dropped since about a week after Lucas came back. Message boards and blogs - pairing specific and not - were buzzing like crazy leading up to and immediately following the love scene. It was hot and people were excited and wanted more but we are now expected to get just as excited about EJ and Sami not even sharing scenes and worse, Sami sharing scenes and groveling to Lucas and EJ sucking face with Nicole? I just don't get it.

I like Ali, James and Bryan but what they are doing with all 3 characters right now is awful. What they were doing leading up to and during sweeps was AWESOME! The show was great again. I still love Days and always will but at the moment, it's not exactly making me rush home from work to watch like it was last month. Last month, I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen with EJami and Dansea and I was loving many of the other storylines as well. The bottom line is that I want romance from my soap and the best romantic chemistry on the entire show is between EJ and Sami. Nothing else compares and I've been watching for a very long time.

EJAMI's claim the ratings dropped because of a lumi shifts - LUMI'S claim they dropped as soon as EJAMI slept together. Just an amused observation on my part. I'm certainly no analysis and I have no idea which - if either - it is. :)

I try and look at ratings trends Mander and the trend from about January to about a week after EJami's sex scene was going up. That's not spin, it is fact. It was a gradual increase but definite. It was a rebuilding time for the show. The spoilers about the sex scene were out LONG before it actually aired so if the ratings were going to drop because of it, they would have done so leading up to it but the trend was the exact opposite. Lucas came back and Lumi was forced on the viewers again and they are trying to force EJ with Nicole and they seemed to be dropping the whole Daniel/Chelsea thing and whaddaya know, the ratings started on a downward trend again.

I like to read a lot of different websites and blogs that are not pairing specific and the buzz about EJami was hot. Blogs that were entirely anti-EJami before May Sweeps were praising the show for how they moved past 12/29 and were gushing as much as EJami fans about how hot the love scene was.

Since then, the ratings have been going down and it is high time TPTB clued in that EJami is what the majority of viewers want to see. I thought they had done that when they gave Dena the green light to resolve 12/29 but what the heck happened after they started writing for Lucas again? EJ and Sami could be kept apart but they need to be shown remembering the passion they shared and perhaps longing for each other. All we are getting now is pod Sami groveling to Lucas. I don't care about this couple and watching my favourite villainess reduced to groveling and begging the wrong man to love her is not entertaining to me. I don't like where the whole storyline is going and neither do a lot of other people which is exactly why the ratings are tanking.

EJami was written as romantic in the summer of 2006 and the ratings went up and up and up to 2.8 until Hogan Sheffer got his hands on the story and the ratings went down and down and down. They spiked for one day when JKJ reprised the role of Philip in January 2007 and then stayed low for the rest of the year not even seeing the slightest spike for the Green wedding. I will admit that NBC and the soap mags have poured time and money into Lumi and trying to promote Bryan and Lucas but you can't fit a square peg in a round hole. Lumi doesn't appeal to most people and so NBC is losing money because every time they try and force it, the ratings suffer.

Based on trends, there is nothing at all that supports the conclusion that Lumi does anything positive for the ratings whatsoever. The trends *do* support the conclusion that viewers do tune in for romantic EJami - something we had not seen since 2006 (the last time the ratings were any good).

I'm sorry Mander, I know you like Lumi (though I don't understand why) but I really honestly with all my heart believe that the way they are handling the EJamicusole story right now is what is killing the ratings. If they were writing EJami as the clear supercouple with Lucas and Nicole scheming to come between them, I believe whole-heartedly that the ratings would improve. Yes, I could be wrong and I know that but so far, my track record is pretty good at predicting the ratings based on what is airing.

All I know for sure is that I'd be enjoying the show a lot more if they were writing EJami as the clear supercouple. Am I happy about the fact that I'm not enjoying it? Heck no - I love Days. It's part of my life - it's been a constant in my life for almost 20 years. That's weird to say I suppose but I'm the girl who had her father tape Days and send VHS tapes to her in England while she was living there for over 2 years. That was 4 tapes per month for over 24 months - that's a lot of tapes!! :) I don't want to give up on the show and the only thing keeping me hanging on right now are the tiny little moments they have been giving me of Daniel and Chelsea.

I did hear rumours about LUMI/EJAMI ratings, though i dunno if its a fact or just plain rumours, i swear, i don't give a hoot about that. So far in DOOL, im not loving what im seeing, so DOOL writers have actually lost an Aussie Chic who was in love with EJAMI, at the moment, im only rooting for Sami alone cause i love her, and a bit of DANSEA, even though, im not that too much in love with them, i also admit, i haven't watched DOOL for days, im not crazy about it anymore like i used to be, although i do check prevuze and a few spoilers sometimes these days, just to make me laugh about how the storylines have been written.

LOL, no, I didn't think you thought I was spinning but I can see how some people do think that and maybe some people are spinning but I am just stating my honest opinion based on what I enjoy just like what you say. I also only watch what I enjoy - the ratings mean nothing to me as far as what I do or don't watch. Spoilers and magazine articles may affect what I watch though. Basically though, when I'm not enjoying it, I do check the ratings to see if the ratings reflect my own viewing patterns and generally speaking, they absolutely do. This doesn't necessarily mean that the majority of viewers on the same page as me but it is a good indication that they are. Ratings are the one thing no one can "spam" or fool. They do have their weaknesses especially in this day and age when so many people (women) work for a living and are not home during the day but record the show and watch at night. On the plus side, the rating *are* based on percentage of TVs that are "on" tuned in to any given show rather than the percentage of total TVs. (yes, I've done some research on it LOL :) )

EJami/Lucas/Nicole - EJamicusole :D I just added Nicole to the nick that was first introduced by SOD I think. SOD called the EJami/Lumi triangle "EJamicus" and since then, everyone talks about EJamicus. I was just being silly but we are dealing with a quad now so I figured the quad deserved a nick. :)

I have to admit, im just like you Mander, i don't bother with the ratings, i just watch what i love. I love numbers - I'm a reliability and safety engineer and my job is all about failure rates and probabilities. Statistics is a huge part of what I do and I enjoy analyzing numbers. I know that's weird for some people but it is something I like doing - I was one of those people who thought Math was fun in high school. LOL :D One of my favourite TV shows (aside from Days of course :) ) is Numb3rs.

So, I do just watch based on what I enjoy but I also analyze the ratings - not in any great detail and maybe if I did it in more detail, I'd find that my conclusions are not accurate but as much as I do love numbers, I don't see myself creating an Excel spreadsheet to analyze the ratings anytime soon. LOL If someone paid me to, sure, but for now, I'm just going to look at it superficially but I don't think a superficial assessment is necessarily wrong - as I said, looking at rough trends is a good way to guesstimate. You actually have to do a lot of that in engineering as well and I suspect TPTB do that to a certain extent as well - when trying to decide what to write, I doubt they have time for in depth analysis of the ratings every week but maybe they have someone specifically doing that. I don't know how that all works. :D

I did not doubt people here watched other shows. LOL :) I do care very much about the ratings because I'm terrified Days is going to be cancelled and frankly, ratings are the only thing that TPTB care about. Ratings = advertising dollars and without that, the show is toast. I've seen way too many shows I loved cancelled without even being given a chance because of poor ratings so I do watch with interest to see where Days falls in the ratings. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of the show in any way, I just find it interesting and it is useful to have the info if you like to engage in debate. I prefer not to make arguments without being able to back it up with facts.

As for other shows, in addition to DOOL and Numb3rs, these ones top my list:

Oh no, how can i forget my beloved Bones. I love Bones to death, thats' another show i forgot to add on my list lol. I also love Smallville, used to watch it but we don't have it shown to us in Austalia anymore. Grey's anatomy i watched....i started watching it in season 2 and it was great, but i had to leave it as i had too many shows to watch lol, watching too many shows will not let me do anything that i do in my real life, so i had to cut down. Lost i never bothered to watch, they're still stuck in the island, its not going nowhere (Sorry Mander, since you like the show :D), SVU i never watch, Ghost Whisperer....i watched it a few times, but like i said, too many shows, i didn't want to get too attached to it, The Office we don't have in Australia (maybe we do but i dunno about it), and House, my sister watches that but i didn't even bother.

As a conclusion, Supernatural and Bones are the most shows out of your list Mander are the ones i never miss, i would feel so lost and bad if i missed one episode, trust me on that mate :D :p, i would keep thinking what happened LOL.
