WoW!! coming from you Lin thats so awesome!! I never heard back from the open call.....But I went to another audition Thursday night!! It was at the John Casablancas Agency. Some sites online said that they were a fraud. But I just figured that atleast I would gain experience reading for commercials in front of people! ya know??

I just really wish i had a way to get in contact with someone/some agency that wasn't a fake! lol But I won't stop until I find one haha. But I do have a question.

Agencies aren't supposed to ask for money upfront are they??

Because I was pretty sure that the only time you had to pay money was for professional head shots...and the 10% ou owe the agency after you have completed a job.

Can you shed some light on this?? Because I don't want to be ignorant going into all of this :)

xoxo Thanks!!!

SAMMMY.....NEVER GIVE MONEY UPFRONT....FOR ANYTHING!!! Or your "personal information" if possible. Yes, a legit agent can only ask for 10% of a job they book for you, and of course you pay for your own head shot session. Most managers only ask for 10% as well. Sometimes 15%, but you really don't need a manager at this time, I wouldn't think, unless something awesome presents itself, it is of course worth "looking into." Also be "aware" of photographers that are not "legit," ...they can also be wierd, with "ulterior" motives...I don't mean to "scare you," as there are far more legit agents, managers and photographers than the other way around, but just always keep your eyes open. You are, don't forget, a beautiful young girl, excited about your future, and that can "blind" you sometimes to things. MARCH ON!! XO Lin

Hey Lin!!

I thought so about the manager thing. Oh yea and about the money up front...I ended up getting a Call-back for the one agency......and we ended up canceling it. They wanted a "Financial Commitment"....it ended up that they wanted $2,000 for classes...then they were going to sign me up with an agent. My mom and I were like "Forget that!" lol

You didn't scare me about the alternate motives of some people!! It's sad that those people can get away with what they get away with. So far everyone I've talked to or have been interested in, I have researched! lol I'm definitely trying to go into this with open eyes, and not let my excitement blind me to whats out there.

Also, I'm sending my "headshot" and my resume to this management tomorrow and I was sort of wondering myself if I needed a manager at this time..or if I should just only send things to agencies. But I figure it can't hurt. There's just not a lot of Legit agencies in Maryland, so I was wondering if you thought it was a good idea to maybe send my headshot and Resume out to other agencies out of state? I just want this so bad. hehe!!

Also, I found out something amazing! My second cousin is a professional photographer. His name is Ron Monk. He's currently working with Janet Jackson, but I think I'm going to see if he can take some headshots of me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for answering all of my questions You're so0o0o0o0o Awesome and extremely Helpful!!

XO Sam
