Dear Ms. Hewitt,
I’m writing this message because I’ve two requests for you. I’m a writer: my first novel, Redemption, was just published in France by Societe des Ecrivains under my old pseudonym Diane B. and now I’m writing another novel. When I sketched the plot of it, The Shadows of Eternity, I thought that it would be amazing give to my lead character your features. My heroine’s name is Eva Gordon and she’s an FBI profiler. Naturally, the story and character don’t defame you in anyway, but I need your authorization. There is a little extract of the novel in which I present Eva to the readers:
“One of the particular Eva’s signs was her extraordinary resemblance with the actress Jennifer Love Hewitt. A so marked similarity to think that the two were twin. Eva was proud to have this likeness since Jennifer was not the usual "star" without brain, but one woman with an extraordinary talent and a steel willingness . Also in this, they were similar.”©
Since my character isn’t defamatory, my lawyer had told me that I don’t need your permission. However, I want to be honest and if I will not have your permission I’ll rewrite everything. Besides, I’d want to give or sell you the idea: I can’t publish all details on my character and novel since I’m afraid that someone can copy it. Naturally, I own the 100% of rights and if you want, you can contact me. The second request is that I’d love to write your authorized biography. You’re a perfect role model and I admire you very much, so it would be a dream to have your permission to make it!
I know that you’ re extremely busy, so I’d like to know if someone who represent you or work for you, can give a reply to my questions: it’s very important for me!
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
Diana Jennifer Labate
