I seen Alyssa on Jimmy Kimmel last night and I know its been a little bit since we last seen her on television (my name is Earl) but she looks as amazing if not more amazing than she ever has in her entire life. Just when I thought the sexiest girll on tv, the gorgeous brunette from Melrose Place and Charmed had somehow matured beyond this sex symbol image there she is again on national tv looking more stunning than ever.Alyssa to me you are the most amazingly beautifull woman ever and I cant wait until your new show comes out because I'm sure that it is going to be a huge sucess. Anyways heres to wishin you luck and as if only to say thank you.:)

Yeah, I know what you mean. She's gorgeous. She's like, in her thirties too! I hope I'm that fit when I'm in my thirties! I think she must work out...

I wish I was still in my 30s, Larry, much less looking forward to them like you are! In my opinion she is way prettier now than when she was younger. And I agree; she must work out. She is actually fitter and trimmer looking than she was when she was 20. Some of the other classic Italian/Mediterranean beauties were actually viewed to be in their prime far into mid life. Classics like Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale were still beautiful far into their 40s, 50s and even 60s.
Alyssa tops them all, though, in my view. I've never seen a woman so beautiful, and am sure I never will.

Hey guys

Alyssa does indeed work out she's very into fitness and eating correctly. Alyssa is also into training with weights and has taken boxing at her gym.

I agree she looks so good you'd think she wasn't a day overy 26.

That makes sense, Gary. I have always been amazed at how well muscled she is (yet still profoundly feminine). She has that kind of body where she could probably spend about 6 months body building and start competing. I've always thought athletic women were very appealing.

I can't either, Ozzie! I had to think for a few minutes who was President when I was in my 30s. I think he used to be an actor...:D

Maybe it has something to do with being a vegitarian? I am very happy for Alyssa to be looking so good. She really might make me try to change my diet:D

I was just eating a huge steak for supper while perusing the CL AJM board, and thought about that very thing. The older i get, the more guilt I feel about eating animals. But, Jeez, steak tastes good! It wouldn't take much urging, though, and anybody I've ever known who has gone veggie has not only lost weight but say they feel better, too. My problem is that I have little kids here about half the time, and I don't think I'm up to imposing that on them. Who knows, though.
I think with Alyssa, a combo of diet and exercize is probably a huge factor in her beauty regimen. I have to say I was a little surprised to read that she smokes (or perhaps she used to and this was just an old post).

Actually, I read somewhere that Alyssa has cut down on her smoking and only does it when she's stressed.

I can relate. I smoked 2 packs a day for 18 years. The single hardest thing I've ever done in my life is quit smoking. (Although it's a great way to instantly gain about 20 pounds!). It's been nearly 16 years since I quit and I still dream about them at night about once a month...

bless her,

I don't know if she still does smoke at all ( I don't think she does), anyway there's far better ways of getting by (and over stressful situations) than reaching for smokes. They wreck your health, completely, and they're not "cool" or anything like that. You only end up more stressed out because you become addicted to them. If things are stressing you out that much that it's starting to affect your health and mental state, just get up and walk away from whatever you're doing or what's causing you the stress. Some might say..."I can't, it's my job and I need to get things done and earn money", or, "It's always been like this"......that's a total cop out. No excuses. You can walk away from it. It may take a bit of fortitude to do so, but if you need help....ask!!!! Your health and wellbeing is far more important than work or getting stressed out over something, especially if it affects you that much.

The only person who can truly make you do anything is yourself. The only person who can truly make things better for yourself, is you. Others can only help (or get in your way). Any friend worth their salt would never suggest something harmful, or possibly harmful, if they were truly interested in your welfare.

If you want my honest opinion....those people who run the companies that manufacture smokes and such should all be thrown in jail and have the keys thrown away. Why??....for making and promoting something which they know full well is an addictive substance and dangerous to people's health....and all for the making of profit. Nothing more or less. Profiting from the ruination of people's lives and their health, and they don't give a rat's about it at all. In fact, they deny they even know it does anything at all....except rather begrudgingly. Typical of big business.....if it makes us money, who cares what it does. Just so long as it lines my pockets and keeps me in my present lifestyle, who cares what happens to "Joe Blake" down the road.

Yes, it takes two to tango and people take it up for all sorts of reasons, but that's not the point. I feel sorry for the poor smoker. Maybe they shouldn't have taken it up in the first place, but once you get hooked, it takes a lot of willpower to break free. For most people.

Sorry for the rant there, guys.

You go on and rant, Ozzie. It's a fitting cause. It's my turn now...

My experience has been that most people don't take it up for reasons of stress, but for a million other sociological reasons. I just thought it looked cool and other musicians were smoking when I started a long time ago, before the real health risks were known. Some women take it up to lose weight. Then, once you're addicted, you realize that it is effective at helping to deal with stress symptoms. But at a very hard price. My doctor told me that in tests, lab monkeys will pass up heroine and cocaine to get at nicotine. He said that he considers it the most addictive substance on the planet! Most people fail to quit because they really fail to identify how fully addictive it is. (In AA, the first step in the 12 steps is to admit that you have become powerless over the substance). In fact, most people who are light or occasional smokers have the hardest time quitting because they have the hardest time accepting that they are truly addicted. There are so many other factors involved though, too, denial being about the most significant ("I can quit any time". "They really aren't that bad for you", etc.)
The biggest trick to recovering from substance addiction is to understand there are two components: 1) physical, and 2) emotional, psychological. There are very real physical withdrawal symptoms associated with tobacco addiction. The emotional component is the "habit" part of the addiction. It becomes a part of your ritual. Combine the two and you have real trouble. It takes attacking both components to win. There are some pretty good drugs out there now to help with the first factor. I found counseling helped greatly with the second.
We're also about a generation ahead of most countries in this regard, too. My God, everyone in China smokes. But, I think the statistic still hovers at around 30 % of all those in the US smoke.

I did some math once and figured that I had smoked 289,000 cigarettes in my life. A great musician, Warren Zevon, died of lung cancer a couple of years ago. He had smoked about as long as I had, and had quit about as long ago as I had, so I'm not in the clear by any stretch. It was a wake up call when he died.

So, yes, real compassion for the smoker. Heaping shame on them for smoking only ties into the emotional component of the addiction. Give 'em a hug instead. Like Ozzie said, it's not their fault. I, of course, hope Alyssa doesn't smoke, but if she does, and she wants to quit, I'd love to be the one to administer the hug...

Jim - still thankful to be here - in Texas

I agree completely, Ozzie. No matter how stressed I may get in life sometimes, I'll never resort to smoking. There's no benefits in being a cigarette smoker, and I don't have the physical willpower to even touch a pack. My ways of coping with stress are watching Charmed, reading, spending time with friends & family, etc. I really hope Alyssa has quit by now, because I'd hate to see cigarettes ruin her billion-dollar smile. :(

On a positive note, her Charmed co-star, Holly Marie Combs, quit smoking once she became pregnant with her first child. Also, her current husband has asthma, so he played a huge role in getting HMC to kick the habit. Holly has vowed to never smoke another cigarette, and that's a comforting relief. :)

So, yes, real compassion for the smoker. Heaping shame on them for smoking only ties into the emotional component of the addiction. Give 'em a hug instead. Like Ozzie said, it's not their fault. Me too, Jim! I'm glad to hear that you were able to kick the habit. You're a great guy, and it would really suck to lose someone as insightful and cool as you. Two of my grandparents both lost their lives to cigarettes, so I feel your pain. Thankfully, no candid photos of Alyssa smoking have turned up, so she probably has quit by now. Let's keep our fingers crossed. :)
