View Full Version : Alyssa Worst Dressed????

I have been looking at some red carpet pictures from the Emmy's last night and I see all over the place that Alyssa was name worst dressed in a white dress she was wearing...but all of the pictures they show are actually of actress Christina DeRosa.
So, my first question is...was Alyssa actually at the Emmy's in a white dress and second, are all of those people that named her worst dressed going to apologize, she couldn't be worst dressed on the red carpet if she wasn't even there!!
Craziness!!!

Yeah, I'm having a hard time believing that too, Lori. I haven't seen any shots of her from the show, but maybe some will turn up today.
I found a link to the SF Examiner with the alleged shot of her, along with a semi-correction, but the AP hasn't posted a retraction yet, so they're still calling it Alyssa. It sure looks to me to be Christina De Rosa.

This is so ridiculous that is clearly not Alyssa in those pics one very obvious clue is starring them in the face.. Where are Alyssa’s wrist tattoos?
It’s obviously not Alyssa in those pics

I agree, just because she was at the pre-emmy party does not mean she would be at the emmys. Maybe some other pictures will turn up later in the week.

No, the actress in that pic is definitely not our beloved Alyssa. She's pretty, but doesn't quite measure up to the goddess that is Alyssa Jayne Milano.

I will agree, however, with the article citing this actress as being "worst dressed". I thought she looked kind of like a piece of wedding cake that had been left out in the sun. It kind of brings back memories of Bjork's swan dress.
Someone in this chain mentioned that it need not be so that even though she was at the pre-party, she would also be at the deal itself. I guess I was assuming she would be, but perhaps not. I don't even know how one gets invited or if they need be.
Ha! I didn't even think to check the wrists for tats! Alyssa can hardly ever go incognito with her prominent tattoos. In fact, I can credit her with getting to like tattoos. Before her, I held the same attitude as a lot of people my age. When I was a kid only convicts and sailors had these, so I wasn't too nuts about them - until I saw hers. I am a convert. The rosary on her shoulder is my fave. But the back of her neck is absolute perfection, so I often don't notice it!

Hi Jim
The tattoo on the back of her neck is my favorite too. I feel her tats add an exotic beauty to her.

Just add my comment at the site...these guys must either be blind or stupid, or just plain nasty when it comes to celebs. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an apology and retraction from AP.

It's funny, I don't typically listed to what the 'fashion police' say -- I think it is too mean spirited and down right rude. I was just looking because I wanted to see what my faves were wearing on the red carpet. This whole thing just got to me because not only are they picking on a beautiful woman who probably loved what she was wearing and was out on the red carpet -- they were calling her by the wrong name!!
banjoist2008
09-22-2008, 07:21 PM
I'm with you, Lori. The commentary on the red carpet can get awful snarky and mean. Imagine how much stress that adds to what ought to be a fun event for the stars, thinking they're going to get ripped for wearing the wrong dress. And it's totally focused on women, as well. All men have to do is show up in a tux. Heck, these days they don't even have to shave!
I was also thinking that I wouldn't be too nuts about the misattribution if I were the other actress, either! I hope somebody at AP is at least embarrassed about this (if not looking for a new job!)
(Gary, I totally agree about the tats. Tres exotique!)

Hi All -
Let's put a few things in perspective -
a. We know Alyssa is a classic beauty, pure and simple.
b. We know she is stylish to a fault.
c. We know the press is incompetent, inconsiderate, and profoundly misguided.
What we also know, at the end of the day, is it doesn't matter what Alyssa wears; where she wears it; why she appears where she appears. What does matter is at the end of the day Alyssa is still Alyssa. At the end of the day, nothing else really matters.
It isn't about what you wear; how much you weigh; the money you have. It is about purity of spirit; strength of character; compassion. At the end of the day, Alyssa rises head and shoulders among many not because of what she wears, but who she is. At the end of any day, that's all that matters - plain and simple.
Let the press get it right or wrong - they no longer matter. Perhaps that is really at the heart of a larger problem.
Now those are statements that I could not agree more with. I tend to look at the people in the press as the schoolyard bullies - not terribly bright, not what might be considered amazingly good looking, not overly funny. Just ordinary people who, for some reason, felt slighted by the world and decided to take it out on others whether they deserved it or not.
They live in a different world from the rest of us - they derive their income out of reporting false, misleading, damaging, mean-spirited campaigns. It's a fantasy land, and I often feel sorry for those in the entertainment business. Kudos to all actors, musicians, tv presenters and what not for continually doing their jobs, despite such intense focus on weight, looks, hair, make-up, clothing and "love" accessories.
It cannot be easy for people like Alyssa to have to deal with such negativity on a daily basis. The gracious, kind and generous people in entertainment really shine through when you look at these things in perspective. They aren't bad-mouthing others for the sake of publicity or creating stories to sell a few more copies of the celebrity rags. I do really feel for the girl in the photos - she went with a dress that may not be everyone's cup of tea, but she was comfortable and it was her statement saying 'This is me'. I do wish that these journalists would remember the old saying, 'Unless you have something nice to say, don't say anything at all'.
c. We know the press is incompetent, inconsiderate, and profoundly misguided.

I was profoundly shocked when I read the TV Guide headline.
How incredibly classless on their part to knowingly state such a thing.
But truth be told Feles is right and ALyssa knows how fiercely loyal we are...
What's more I hope she can understand how much we value her heart over every single other thing about her.

The ones that get me are the ones who hide in dumpsters and parking garages hoping to snap one picture of somebody taking their trash out so they can sell it for thousands to some of these rags. That's got to be stressful, knowing you're under assault just to go out and get the paper in the morning...

Don't you wonder how many phone calls and emails Alyssa got within minutes of them posting that pic of Christina De Rosa? After reading about this yesterday, I can remember a couple other instances of this happening. The press is so competitive about rushing pics to print to beat their competition that I sometimes don't think the do much fact checking.
Sort of related, both Jennifer Love Hewitt and Eva Longoria got dinged by the Fashion fascists as well, and I thought they both looked great.

Jim, I couldn't agree with you any more. I thought both JLH and Eva looked superb at the Emmys. Those "fashion police" morons should be ashamed of themselves for insulting two of the most beautiful (inside & outside) women in entertainment. Opinions are opinions, but those fashion fascists (hope you don't mind if I borrow this term, because I think it's clever) wouldn't know a gorgeous lady if they saw one.
Eva Longoria looked really cute in her dress. I wish she'd grow her hair back out, but that's a story for another day.
Some people might find Jennifer Love Hewitt's hairstyle tacky, but I love it! So what if it looks outdated? I love the '80s (too young to have lived through them, sadly), and not embarrassed to admit that. Some of my favorite movies & music are from that period, and if I could have gone to high school in any decade, the 1980s would win hands down.
On a similar note, isn't it funny how so many female child stars from the '80s (Alyssa Milano, JLH, Soleil Moon Frye, Danica McKellar, Shannen Doherty, etc) have grown up to be beautiful women?

Zach, I think perhaps we were cut out of the same cloth. I have to confess that dark hair and dark eyes have always just slayed me. I thought JLH was stunning in her dress and hair. She's lost a little of that weight that she got so criticized for, and she looks fantastic. Not that she needed to lose. Longoria's eyes are luscious and luminous.
Yes, it is amazing how beautiful these girls became, but...
Alyssa still reigns far above all of them. To me, there is Alyssa, and there's the rest of the universe. If you take the makeup away from many of these women and compare them with Alyssa without makeup, there's no contest. Alyssa is so naturally beautiful that sometimes too much makeup can actually somewhat detract from her beauty. I've seen the "without" pics of a few others who I won' t name, but they are so dependent on makeup to be beautiful. The "worst" picture I've ever seen of Alyssa was one of those jump-out-of-the-dumpster paparazzi shots that caught her without makeup and she looked just as scrubbed clean and beautiful as the day she was born.
A salute to dark eyed, dark haired women everywhere! Cheers, Zach.

Yeah, brunettes definitely have more fun.
Seriously though, I agree with just about everything you said. I've seen at least 1 pic of Alyssa without makeup and she still looks fantastic. It's true that some women look better with makeup than without it. Thankfully, AM isn't one of them. :) Her style of beauty comes about once every 100 years.
The world is filled with many breath-taking sights: the sunset on a hot summer day, the Great Wall of China, etc. However, they all pare in comparison to Alyssa Jayne Milano, the one and only wonder of the world.

In all reality upon hearing something like this I can only stop to think that if that is even possible.I mean c'mon as many years as Alyssa has been in fashion being a model doing photo shoots and oh well lets just say for the most part looking good in whatever she does.I honestly believe that something like that could never happen unless she showed up sporting the latest line of Oscar The Grouchs temporary seasonal wear or something.
