Yes, the Dodgers are in the post-season. There's no question that Manny Ramirez elevated their game. I'm not sold on the Dodgers starting pitching, though, in the post season. But that's why they play the games -- Dodger starters will have the chance to prove me wrong.

Personally, even though he only played a quarter of the season, Ramirez is the NL's MVP, in my opinion. I have a friend from the Boston area though whom argues that Ramirez deserves little in the way of accolades because he tanked this year in Boston to force a trade -- which I agree is rather unprofessional behavior on his part. But the fact is, his play elevated a mediocre team and sent them into the post season, something likely MVP Albert Pujols failed to do.

Anyway one looks at it, I'm sure Alyssa is quite pleased with the way this has worked out, and good for her.

I think it will be pitching, and Penny is still "iffy" at best. If the Cubs do manage to pull this off, it will probably have less to do with Manny and more to do with starters. The Cubs starters are deep and big.
I grew up near Chicago which of course means that I don't give them the chance of a snowball in Heck at defeating anyone past October 1st, so congratulations in advance to the Dodgers.

Of course, if Alyssa rooted for the East Bejeezus Mud Daubers, I'd be pulling for them, too! Go, Daubers!
