I was just looking up something about Alyssa on the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) and was reading the trivia/bio stuff about her, and learned some new things. I’d like to check them out here, if I may. I’ve found errors in IMDB before, and I can’t think of a more knowledgable bunch of people than this group to check them against. To wit:
1) Their family had a house fire in which her dad went back in heroically to save a dog, but wasn’t able to, injuring himself jumping out of a second story window. (If this is true, I’m pretty sure her dad has a place in heaven waiting for him. What an incredibly selfless act. He must be Alyssa’s hero).
2) She plays piano and flute! I would love to hear this sometime!
3) Wore contact lenses occasionally in Who’s The Boss (I remember reading a quote from here once saying that she was “blind as a bat”.)
4) Is nicknamed “Conan” (as in “the Barbarian”?)
5) Turned veggie after 9-11
6) Has a phobia of water
7) A photograph of her was used to create the Ariel character in “The Little Mermaid”
Any fact checking on these would be more than welcome! I know that all you have to do is register yourself to IMDB to contribute, and I don't think they do any kind of fact checking.

Hey Jim!
The only one that I know of to be true is the number 7 about the Ariel thing. Of course, that doesn't mean that the other "facts" aren't true, I just have never heard of them before.
This is pretty cool though, thanks for posting.
Katlyn -sorry about the nasty weather in Texas, it's very nice and fall here in KC! -

Hey Jim!
I Know Facts 4,5 & 7 Are Real!
I Remember Reading That Her Friend Came Back After The 9/11 And Said To Alyssa That It Smelt Like Burnt Flesh, This Reminded Her Of A Barbeque, Thats Why She Became A Vegetarian.
I Cant Be Sure About The Others Though,
But As For The Piano & Flute Playing, There Is No End To Alyssa's Talents So Im Pretty Sure Her Being Able To Do Something Like This Is More Then Likely :)
Have A Nice Day

I think all it's true.Alyssa carry a eyeglasses sometimes as her father. On a pics she is too(!) lean,so apparently Alyssa still vegetarian.Any slavery (diete, sacrifice, etc.) is self-damage,rapid olding and death!Alyssa was born (12.19.1972)almost simultaneous with Alexandra Tydings(12.15.1972)which was Aphrodite in series ''Xena''.So nice Alyssa must be love a sea's foam (source of Aphrodite's birth) and water too.

Well, apart from #1 there, which I can't quite recall whether it's correct, the others are true. Lyssie's nickname "conan" is in reference to when she played alongside Big Arnie in "Commando". She's also called "cookie"....for obvious reasons:D. She also doesn't like having her head go underwater....she gets rather scared when it does (fear of drowning??). And she's quite good on the piano and flute:D. Gets her musical talents off of her Dad:D

OMG, Cookie is just toooooo precious! For real? Oh, that humanizes her even more, and make her even more endearing. I get the Conan thing now. I'd like to know more about her dad. I know he's a music editor, but most of those guys are musicians, too, and play several instruments. What a totally cool family. Bro is a musician, too. "Cookie" - I swear I'm just about to bust that is so cute!
thanks, Ozzie!

Hey Jim!
...sorry about the nasty weather in Texas, it's very nice and fall here in KC! -
I was born in Illinois, Katlyn, and even though I've lived in Texas for 30 years, I miss those crisp Autumn days in the Midwest. Trees don't turn color here, either. Oh, well. It also doesn't snow 8 feet a year, either, so there are perks!

Early maple trees are starting to turn red...Supposed to get down in the 40's at night tomorrow. Had a record 3-day precipitation total in Peoria ,Il of over 8 inches of rain when the remnants of IKE went through a couple weeks ago. Illinois River was the 6th highest level in history (around 10 feet above flood stage....) Yes, snow can be a pain...at times, but I would rather have 4 distinct seasons.:)

I grew up in DeKalb, and visited Peoria several times, Curt! I read about the flooding up there as a result of Ike. And, yes, I do miss the snow. In fact, I feel the same way about the heat here as I do the snow there. It's great, but it just lasts too long.
I reallllllly miss the maple trees!

Yea, but some years it barely snows and doesn't even get below 0 degrees. :) :) :) Some years...not many.

They're all true! I've read about the dog thing elsewhere as well .. I think Alyssa might have mentioned it somewhere (don't hold me to that). But I've definitely heard about that before. And yeh, all the rest are true :)
