I am from near Chicago which of course means I was a Yankees fan as a kid. I just heard on CNN that the Cubs actually had a priest perform rites to remove the curse from their dugout. I'm not making this up! The Ruth curse should kick in on the Red Sox any day now, too.

Alyssa has nothing to worry about. The Cubs and Sox have been disappointing Illinoisans for 100 years now. I think they've lost 7 straight playoff games now. I'm being sarcastic here, and really have been a Cubs fan all my life, but the term "long suffering" was, I believe, coined to describe Cub fans in the postseason. The Dodgers are probably more concerned about whether they're going to have to face the Angels or not than beating the Cubs.

So, of course I'm happy for Alyssa. Go Blue (not Cubs blue...)
