View Full Version : Aging beautifully

I was just looking at one of the Kate Spade dinner pics of Alyssa in that beautiful royal blue dress. A couple of the high res pics allow you to really zoom in on her glorious face. I just want to say that I hope, hope, hope, hope, (a million hopes), that she NEVER considers botox injections, or any other kind of cosmetic process to remove age lines. I don't even like to think of them as age lines. They are smile lines, and to me, they make her all that much more beautiful. I think it's wrong that a feature that is said to make men look more distinguished is something that women have to go to doctors to avoid.
If I knew her personally, I would draw up an agreement and have her sign it, get it notarized, file a copy with the county, stating that she will never inject botox, yak placentas or whatever other stuff women are doing to their faces that leave them looking like Angie Dickinson. I believe it makes a person's appearance almost look like a parody of themselves, or a mask or something.

Please, please, please, Alyssa, don't ever change your looks, OK????? Also, I love naturally greying hair in women. I don't know if you guys know who Emmy Lou Harris is, but she had raven black hair as a young woman, and has allowed it to go completely grey. It is simply beautiful. And Alyssa has the same coloration as EL. I imagine that as easy at it is, and as almost expected of women that it is, she probably already colors her hair, but I'm willing to start a political party or something that is in favor of naturally aging women being seen as just as beautiful as ever.

Hopping off my soap box.

I agree, Jim. It's a natural part of life....going grey. If more people accepted that they just grow older, then there'd be no problem. Trying to stay like you're looking in your early 20's all your life is a futile exercise. You can't do it.....unless you've got an incredibly long lifespan, like Methuselah long, and even then you'll eventually go grey.

Get over it....there's nothing wrong with going grey:D

I decided to take another look at the photos Jim mentioned, and I totally agree. Alyssa always looks great no matter what she wears, but those particular pics just have that extra oomph that's hard to describe. Just looking at those pictures mesmerizes me so much I find myself at a loss for words.

Jim, you really hit the nail on the head with your assessment of botox and all those other "anti-aging" products. Contrary to what some believe, botox does NOT make older women look younger. Personally, I think that women who take too much botox end up looking like gross caricatures of themselves. Women look their best in their 30s and early 40s, IMHO, and they shouldn't have to use any cosmetics to show that. Alyssa is pure all the way, so I don't think she'd be one to use any cosmetics.

Guys have no worries Alyssa would never go in for any of that anti-aging nonsense. She is too much of a realist to do that.

Agreed with Gary 100%. In fact, I once saw an interview that Alyssa was a part of, and it was posing the same question: would she ever resort to modern day "options" to stay looking young, and I'm paraphrasing here, but here response was basically HECK NO! She said she would never do that to her face, or herself.

So no need to worry=]
Katlyn -will never inject anything into my face, ever!

GOOD FOR BOTH YOU AND ALYSSA, KATLYN!!! It just makes me think of guys like Jack Lemmon, who took this beautifully aging masculine face of his and turned it into a sort of spooky, androgynous looking living death mask of himself. That last "Grumpy Old Men" movie I could barely watch.
I know Kathy Griffin has come out and talked about how much she regretted what she did to her face surgically.
I agree also with Oz and Zach, especially about women in their 30s and 40s. There are also some gorgeous women in their 50s. To me, (and I'm repeating myself, but what the heck), Alyssa is just approaching the full flower of her beauty.

From Answers.com: Botulinum is a bacterium (Clostridium botulinum) that produces seven different toxins that can cause botulism and is also medically used to block muscle contractions... Yeah, that's just exactly what I want to inject in my face! Maybe I'll try poisonous tree frog darts after that. Then I'll try using the steam cycle on my iron and see what that does. Amazing...

I am so glad to hear from you guys that Alyssa is against this.

Yes, exactly! To be an actress, or at least a good one like Alyssa, you have to be able to portray many different emotions, and your face is your best tool.

Thanks for confirming what I've always felt about Alyssa. I'd never suspect her to use botox or any of those other "anti-aging" cosmetics. She's a natural beauty and would never resort to any artificial nonsense. So happy to hear this. Thanks again, kattllynnn!

I'd never thought of it in this light, Katlyn, but how true! Especially in a face as expressive as Alyssa's.

As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Alyssa is fine as she is now. I'm extremely happy that she is against botox. All actresses out there should follow her example.

Zach...speaking of brunettes...how about Danica McKellar. There's a girl that's not only very beautiful, she's also exceptionally smart!!!. You don't have a math theorem named after you unless you've got the smarts in the grey matter department:D:D.

I very much agree that Alyssa has never been more beautiful. I am 41 and have some Grey hair but like that guy from American Idol, or George Clooney, Grey hair is a distinguished look.
I love when Alyssa gets excited her whole face lites up!!! And her Eyes just sparkle. When she is in her "taking control" mode that is what is so excellerating. I could go on and on about Alyssa Milano's beauty and later on I will. That is enough for now;)

Great call, Ozzie! Danica is a huge favorite of mine, and I wish I'd added her to the list earlier. Now that you've brought her up, I'll put Danica McKellar on my list right away. She is a classic mix of brains & beauty, just what I look for in a woman.

Man, no kidding! Summa Cum Laude from UCLA and co-authored a scientific paper while an undergrad. I'm having a hard time helping my daughter with her 7th grade pre-algebra, so my hat's off to her! Not bad looking, either! (To say the least).

Good call, Zach and Ozzie.

I know that Alyssa battles with dslyxsia which makes it hard to read, but her brilliance inspite of this is really exceptional. She never has problems remembering and she is very creative.
I believe it is far better to have imagination then how much knowledge you can acquire just like Albert Einstien.
