Someone posed as Holly Marie Combs they got deleted, another fake Holly marie popped up and had this as the Official Alyssa link. Which we know is incorrect
My advice to all of you is to ignore all of these clearly fake Myspace profiles. Alyssa has created her official Myspace profile, and anybody else claiming to be her or other celebrities are imposters who are illegally impersonating people. If you look to that site and follow the link to the "official" Holly profile, you can note by the style of biography that Holly herself would not describe herself like that. Nor do I believe that someone as notoriously private as Holly would create a Myspace profile.
Report these profiles to Myspace and to our site administrator, Feles. Spread the word about Alyssa's official profile, along with links to her official website and boards should people need confirmation. These imposters thrive on the attention, so by taking that away and putting it back on the real Alyssa, hopefully we can continue to fight this battle without resorting to tactics such as name calling and what not. Let the proper people deal with this and just remember that we will not mislead you on Alyssa's official avenues of communication, unlike these other imposters. Our Alyssa is 100% the real deal, so spread the word and ignore those others :D

Thanks, Zoee.
This seems to be rampant on MySpace with famous and notable people. I know at least in music, "tribute" pages are set up by anybody who wants to for musicians that aren't even alive anymore. The hard part is weeding through all the fakes to find the real deal. In MS you don't have to positively identify yourself to open an account, so you could set yourself up as the Queen of Romania if you wanted to. The fakes are really easy to spot, though.

When I used myspace i always got these friend requests by loose women in bikinis who often used the same pictures for more than one ad. I think the whole thing was a sham and was meant to make you buy a Playboy. They would always quit myspace again as quickly as they started. Bot bot bot. And come to think of it I have a wonderful time share in Cancun made especially for the right buyer-dirt cheap...:)

Thing is the fake ones are so easy to spot Alyssa would never use huge pics of herself to adorn her myspace page, As Lindze pointed out earlier Lyss just isn't that kind of person. Her humility prevents it.

True, Gary. In fact, when we got the official invite to her real MySpace page, I was somewhat surprised to see how modest it was. People "trick out" there MS pages so heavily it can sometimes be difficult just to view the pages. Alyssa's is quite humble and modest. No huge glam shots or self-serving description. Just a great tribute to a great woman. Which brings me to something I noticed on the site. She lists her home as Geneva, New York, which I suppose is a tribute to her family? I'm not terribly familiar with New York, but Geneva is pretty much far North, I think. Pretty rural, upstate, in the glacial finger lake area not that far from Canada. Does anyone have any further info on this? I think I remember reading that she was born in Brooklyn, right? Does she have family in Geneva? I've always thought of her as such a city girl, it kind of surprised me to see this.
thanks!

I know this user, I have this profile in my MySpace friends, but I always know that's not real Alyssa's page. I agree with Gary - Alyssa would never use huge pics of herself to adorn her MySpace page.

Oh man! I just realized that I've been had! For the longest time, I was under the impression that that MySpace profile for which Drivingtdy provided the link was Alyssa's official one. About a month before I joined Celebrity Loop, I saw that profile and assumed it was legit.
Now that the truth has come out, I guess I was mistaken. What Gary said earlier makes perfect sense, since Alyssa isn't the type of person who wants the spotlight 24/7. I feel really bad for not knowing beforehand that that profile was a fake. :( My apologies to Alyssa.

Zach, you have the real deal now, correct? (If not, it's http://www.myspace.com/alyssamilano). I wonder how MySpace deals with this. There are tons of these impostor sites. It seems like they'd be interested in removing the impostor sites, but the one Drivingtdy mentions looks like it's been there a while. They even Photoshopped the blue dress David Spade photo of her holding up the hand written sign saying "That wasn't me in that white dress" to read "Welcome to my official MySpace". What I don't get is what motivates someone to do this. I mean, it's not money. They aren't getting any recognition for what they're doing. Sure, they're tricking a lot of people, but to what end? Where's the payoff? I never have quite understood this. It's not like you can send an email out to everybody bragging about how you tricked 20,000 people into thinking you were Alyssa Milano...

Thankfully, I was able to locate Alyssa's 100% genuine, legit MySpace profile earlier today. It really puzzles me why someone would want to impersonate a famous individual on the Internet. I guess some people out there have WAYYYY too much time on their hands. Something should be done on MySpace to prevent users from pretending to be celebrities/famous people. The best thing to do for now is to report them.
BTW, when I saw that photoshopped picture of Alyssa on that impostor profile, it raised a red flag for me. Once Drivingtdy brought the news to our attention, that's when I realized it was a fake. Thanks again. :)

The problem is unless you have an official site Like Alyssa's communicating what is the real official my space page a lot of people get fooled even though many seem very obvious.
One of Holly Marie Combs fake pages listed her salary. No celebrity would do that, yes the ones that are not professionally done or they will accept everyone and anyone as a friend should send major question marks. Celebrities don't seem to accept friends or are extremely guarded.
It seems people who do this are insecure, need attention or have some type of sick power trip of trying to feel important.
Maybe a writing campaign to my space to police their site and contact the celebrity would be good otherwise they lose credibility as a legitimate site.

it gets really crazy sometimes
We had someone on the original charmed board and Alyssa's first boards calling herself "Alyssafans" or "AlyssaGolden" she would wait till Alyssa posted something and then go to other message boards pretend to be Alyssa and cut and paste Alyssa's post over to the other boards.
Screwey huh?

That's too weird, Gary! Jeez. I sometimes wonder what Alyssa must think about this sort of thing. I mean, that would be a little creepy, I think, not to mention intrusive and invasive.
Jim
I would think that whilst it would be extremely upsetting, she would just try to ignore it and/or let CyberTrackers deal with it, for those bigger issues. She's certainly not one to sit idly and allow people to speak in her name, and I'm sure she has often felt that some of the attention is unwarranted, unwanted and just plain strange (as most of us would feel in her position). CyberTrackers has dealt with a lot of issues regarding people impersonating Alyssa and her family members - Celebrity Loop has excellent staff who would do anything to protect one of their own. We are very much focused on our clients' rights, especially on the internet.
On the other hand, knowing how positive and upbeat she is, she probably thanks her lucky stars for the majority of you who are great fans and support her unconditionally whilst hoping for a better life for the others. She is one of those kind people who tries to look for the best in everybody and probably hopes that one day they realise they are making mistakes and that they will learn from them.

Also you can look at the Celebrities IMBd.com pages, because most of all are managed by the management of the actor/actress or by him/herself.

Wow, that must have been a major headache. Some people will do anything to get attention. It's better to ignore them and not waste any time responding to their nonsense.
