Hey, all.
Does anyone know if the wildfires in Los Angeles are anywhere near Alyssa's ranch? I know next to nothing about California geography. thanks!

Hi

So far from what I've heard I don't believe they're anywhere near Alyssa's place.

I know we are all concerned for Alyssa's safety but each time this happens we must be respectful of Alyssa and her family's privacy. In the past Lin has kept us informed and I know she or the mods will let us know when they have time. My thoughts and prayers go out to the familys in the path of these deadly wildfires.

I think the fires are raging in the North of Los Angeles. I've read so.
I'm glad Alyssa's not in danger:-)..I'm just praying it hasn't reached Pacific Palisades by now! I'm worried cuz I have a friend living there...:-S

I'm glad Alyssa and her family are safe. I hope Julian McMahon is safe too.

This seems to be a recurring theme for LA and southern Cal'. I'm glad that Lyssie and the family are safe.

Whoever told you guys that gum trees are great trees to plant on the the hillsides needs to be shot!!!:eek: They burn even better than pine trees when they ignite in a fire...they actually explode when it gets hot enough!!:eek:

That's right, Oz! I've also read that wildfires aren't necessarily getting worse, it's just that people are living in places they didn't use to live in. The fires are a naturally occurring deal, many of them started by lightning. Here in North Texas, people moved in from other parts of the country and brought their landscaping tastes with them and changed the surroundings considerably. This used to be a very arrid part of the country, but it's pretty lush now because of this.

Sure glad Alyssa's property is not near these fires. I have no idea where her ranch is, and know even less about California, but I thought I'd check.

Jim - raining here - in Texas.

Ha, don't sweat it Jim. I'm right there with ya! I've never been to Cali before and don't have any family or anything up there, so I really don't know much about it. I do remember Alyssa saying her ranch was about 50 miles outside L.A. so her and her property should be safe from these roaring fires!

It's raining here too. Has been for a couple days...really yucky weather =/
