Ok, so I was thinking about this all night at my so utterly stimulating job. ;) I'll give you my analysis of your dream, but don't put too much faith in it. I'm not an expert by any means, just thought it would be fun to start a post like this. I'm always wondering what the deeper meaning is behind dreams because it is how we work out our issues in real life. Plus I was hoping others would get in on it. I did take Honors Psych my senior year of high school, but I didn't attend school very much that year so I was hardly ever in it.:p LOL Plus I have a dream for you that you can analyze if you wish. I don't normally dream, or if I do I don't remember them, but this one stuck with me so it must mean something.
Ok, first yours.
I have these recurring dreams every once in a while that I am back behind the cash at mcdonald's and am sooo confused ( can't figure out the register) , but kinda like it..... is that weird??!!! haha! Analyze THAT!!
So you being back at Mcdonald's may mean that you simply miss that time in your life. It may have been an easier time in life or when things were just going good and you were happy. It may also mean that you miss being just a "regular joe" with a "9-5". Now that you're all schnazy celebrity and everything, you're the big cheese! ;) Hehe (j/k) Not being able to figure out the cash register may mean nothing at all. You just may not be able to remember how to do it, or it could mean you're not up to date with the new technology and and you fear you wouldn't know how to do it anymore. The fact that you like being there may mean you do just want to get back to the simpler things in life, like you said you needed to do when you were spending time with family. So here's the real question. After spending time with family and getting back to those simpler things in life, and focusing on other projects rather than your acting...are you still having the dreams?
So here's mine, analyze or not, it's not all that exciting. And I think I may know what it means anyways. When I was in Mexico my cousin and I took this "sub-see" excursion thing where they put you in a mini submarine with windows on each side and drove you around this lagoon showing you the plant/animal life and explaining about them. In my dream there are people on the sub and they're driving around learning about the wildlife (in spanish) but I'm not in the sub. I'm in the water floating around in the lagoon watching the sub drive by me. I can hear them talking but I don't know what they're saying. And they're just driving along and the tour guide is pointing out the animals, and it's as if they don't even notice I'm there. I try to swim to the surface, but the harder I try the further down I sink. I start to panic because I'm running out of air, but nothing helps, I can't make it to the top no matter what I do. Then I wake up...strange?

Dreams are so cool!! I hate those dreams when you feel you are being ignored or dismissed, like yours! So strange. I guess it's our insecurities coming out in these weird dreams, who knows. My Mcdonald's dream has been going on forever! It's not necessarily a bad experience, sometimes its fun, stressful, whatever. And ..... you'd be surprised to know I lead an exceptionally BORING NORMAL life, otherwise !!:p So the yearning for normalcy wouldnt apply in my analysis..;) . I chose to stay here in Canada do remain as normal as I could. It's important to me to stay connected to reality. So much so, that last week I was volunteering at WSPA ( world society for the protection of animals) and making phone calls to people to update info, and I just LOVED it! I got to play secretary for a good cause to wonderful people who love animals. What more could I ask for...;) hee hee.
Now to continue the dream discussion. Here's a good example of recurring dreams and when and why they stop. I used to ALWAYS have dreams that I would be trying to make it to the airport. Sometimes I would get there, sometimes not, but no matter what, I NEVER made it on the plane. I always missed it, lost my luggage, etc. Now growing up, we moved around every couple years, even in my adult life, I have moved even within the same city, every yr and a half!! I was always on the move, mobile, changing, leaving....
When I met Brian and we fell in love and our relationship grew into something great, I stopped having those dreams. I havent had one in years. Looks like I finally feel comfortable staying put and not searching for the escape route anymore. :p

Ho my god, that's so cool, LilLex did it!! :p I didn't dare to do it lol
My god, i LOOOOVE dreaming! I always remember nearly 3 or 4, (maybe more) per nights!! And sometimes nothing, but... i often remember them. And sometimes, i wake up laughing or crying -_- But fortunatly, it's rare!! And when i wake up laughing, i sometimes remember my dream without beeing able to know what was that fun...!!! I don't remember the joke, and that's a pity, because maybe that it was a good one.
About Karen's dream, LilLex is certainty right in many points^^ I'll try to make my own analysis too (well... mostly add things, because she already told the most important ;), but as she told... i'm not an expert too, because never studies anything about psychology^^ I just make my own analysis of things, with sometimes using my dictionnary of dreams. It helps, but not always enough, because i think we need to know our interlocutor's mind and personnality, more details about elements of the dreams and feelings too to make a good analysis. (but i'm certainty wrong, i don't know, that's just what i think :S)
Well, here is mine so...
I want to speak about the fact you can't figure out the registrer. Maybe it means that you're loosing control on something. Maybe you feel like beeing lost? Searching a way to resolve enigma coming from your life?
The cash may symbolize something containing wealth. Maybe the one of your chance having all your close all around you? Or/and your interior wealth?
Well... that's all i can say, LilLex founded the best answers ;)
Now, about LilLex one's:
Haha!! I had dreams like your, too^^ It's creepy hearing people speaking without beeing able to understand what they say!! I already dream that i was in a classeroom, answering a test... without beeing able to read the text which was blurred!!Idem on the blackboard.
So, i asked the teacher who answered me things which had no sense and who finally got angry after me (always with his strange language coming from mars). XD And i had panic too, and finally discovered that people who answered badly had to go in a special class for stupid people.
Well... LilLex, your dream is such explicit, that i'm not sure it needs some analysis :S
Anyway, i'm not sure that it's complitely negative...! As you told us, you drive your sub, it means that you always have the control of your life, and that even if you sometimes feel like having a rough time of it, you're a fighter ;)
Just trust in your capacities.
And about what Karen said, i think you're right. We can stop some dreams just resolving some things which perturb us. But you can stop them in understanding why you do them too.
One of my recurrent one is about zombies :S They are trying to hunt me, they are everywhere, and i try to escape them. I feel like trapped and i try to find reassuring place without beeing able to trust people. Some become quickly zombies, others just don't give a damn of me and what's happen, living their life as they use to do. I feel like alone and lost, and i'm afraid for my close.
Now i've understand, i dream less about it, but sometimes do it again. That's irritating >_< I hate that... especially when it's like beeing real.
Do you think that we can control our dream, just trying to think things like "your not in danger, just think you have a Basooka, and bump them all off!!"?
Anyway, i would love to succed on it. lol
Well, this topic is all simply very interesting^^ It was a good idea.
Which ones are your funniest or frightening ones? :)

LOL You are a funny girl. I love reading your posts. And you're absolutely right about a lot of things. Good call on that register bit with losing control. I agree. Something that needs to be figured out, something she struggles with, a puzzle.
I think you can alter your dreams if you're...I dunno, lucid enough in them that you can. You need to be aware that you're dreaming to change it. Sometimes when I go to sleep I'll try to trigger a dream by thinking about something I'd like to happen and hope something takes off from there. Other times I'll already be dreaming and my alarm will go off, someone will knock on my door, or I hear some sort of noise which then gets interperted in my dream by my brain automatically. Like one of the ringers on my phone is like circus music, and I could hear it in my dream but I didn't wake up it just became a part of what was happening. Know what I mean?
It's crazy stuff that I don't think anyone fully understands. But it's fun to speculate about. :) I'll get back to you on the funniest and most frightning. What are yours?
~Nicole
Thanks a lot LilLex :p
Ho yeaaah i see what you mean!! It sometimes does the same for me, that's strange!!
Or otherwise, i hear some news at the radio when sleeping and know one or two thing they said when get up, werehas didn't really remember hearing it. Just remember a thing like opening an eye during a second and going back to sleep just after.
Mmmmh... about one of my funniest dream... was totally stupid. I did it a long time ago, so just remember that i was doing some rollerskate and that a policeman suddenly run after me with a flashing fixed on his hat. He told me that i had to pay a fine because were rolling to much quickly showing me a signspot with 50 write on it...! I was angry and he asked me to give him a chewing-gum (instead of money)! ^^,
Now i'm ashamed telling you that!! lol
I wrote a lot of my dreams in a blog i had, i think that i've got a lot of others stupids ones like this one write on it.
And what's about premonitory ones? Already did?
One day, i dreamed that my grand-mother's house of holidays (a place i really love and where i had my best memories) was threat by a Tsunami and that we all had to escape, because were a lot of water in the house and that the ceiling menaced to collapse.
... Next morning, my mother told me that there were a big storm there which destroyed a part of the roof, and that a part of the house was completly flooded.
It's a coincidence, but it makes you freak out when just dreamed it...!
I made other ones, but don't have another one in my head yet^^.

Lol, I love the part about the chewing gum! :)
I'd really have to think about a funny one. Like I said I don't remember my dreams much. I have a lot of really strange ones that I have no idea where they came from. And some of them I've had more than once, but I can only remember bits and pieces and I think that's just because they are just so weird. One really scary one I had though was a long time ago. I was maybe like 10 years old and I have a brother 5 years younger than me. When we were kids we used to play "baseball" in the backyard at our house. I say it like that because it was usually just me and him, or our mom/dad throwing a ball and us hitting it, then running to go bring it back (not really a game). In my dream I was playing with my brother. He threw the ball to me and I hit it really far. All the way through the yard, passed the house, and into the road. My brother, being so young, ran after it and straight into the road to retrieve it without looking for cars. I chased after him but I couldn't get to him in time and he was hit by a car. Next thing I knew my dad was shaking me to wake up and he asked me what was wrong because I was screaming and crying. That's one I'll never forget. I have a lot of scary ones about bugs too...I'm not a fan of bugs. :) But I don't think anything will top the one about my brother as far as scary goes.
~Nicole
:S In fact, that's scary!! I hate those sort of dreams where we loose some closes... That something bad happen, and we feel like living it as real...!
Never had a dream making me screaming like that... :S Must be really strange...! But you certainty felt relieved seeing your brother was safe ^^
Hey, and what's about SPEAKING during dreaming? And somnambulism (my brother was!)? :D
I know that if you want to hear some non sense things, you have to ask someone sleeping (with a soft voice in his ear) "what there's in the match box?". You sometimes have funny answers.

Lol I never heard of that. :)
My brother talks in his sleep sometimes. It's kinda funny. You can't talk to him, cuz he doesn't hear you, but he has completely incoherant conversations with himself. :p

Just for kicks I looked up Dream Analysis and found this dictionary that gives you meanings for certain objects in your dreams. Check this out:
Submarine (me)-To see a submarine in your dream, indicates that you are cautiously exploring your emotions and examining your unconscious feelings. You still remain guarded about certain emotional issues. Alternatively, the submarine indicates that you need to adapt a different perspective and understanding. You may need to get down to the core of some situation or problem.
Drowning(me)-To dream that you are drowning, signifies that you are overwhelmed by emotions or repressed issues that are coming back to haunt you. You may be proceeding too quickly in trying to discover your unconscious thoughts and therefore must proceed more cautiously and slowly. If you drown to death, then this refers to an emotional rebirth. If you survive the drowning, then a waking relationship or situation will ultimately survive the turmoil.
Cashier(Karen)- To see or dream that you are a cashier, indicates that you are re-evaluating your life and what you have accomplished. Alternatively, it suggests that you have taken yourself out of some situation. You have "checked out".
Police(Emy)-To see the police in your dream, indicates a failure to perform or to honor obligations and commitments. The police also symbolize structure, rules, power, authority and control. Perhaps you need to put an end to your reckless behavior or else the law will catch up to you. You fear punishment.
To dream that you are pulled over by the police, suggests that you need to slow down and take things down a notch.
To see or dream that you are a police officer chasing a felon, indicates that your naughty and more devious side is in conflict with your moral standards.
Just food for thought next time you have a crazy dream and aren't sure what it means. Anyone have any interesting ones lately?
~Nicole
That's funny^^ A made this dream about policeman when i was a teen^^ Maybe i was in a rebellion period, but don't really remember what my life was about in this time :) Maybe i was forging my bad-tempered ^^
Thanks for telling ;)
I recently dreamed that i was at the beach and the sea was going high, we had to leave and i felt like afraid i and my family beeing engulf because couldn't run quickly. Few times later, they show a report about Tsunami at TV :S I felt the same frightened for people who lived it.
And just after this scene, i was in a spaceship attacked by a big monster. I was afraid he swats me. But i don't remember all anymore...! I think it was about animals i had to protect, something like that.
