Some of you may know about this already, but for those who don't, here's something you may like to be aware of.

This, from the Sierra Club:

------------------------------
You've probably heard about the disastrous "midnight regulations" the Bush
Administration is ramming through in their last few weeks in office.
Well just last week - after a whispered announcement and just 15 days
of public comment - the Bush administration began preparing a rule
that could allow the Grand Canyon to be defaced by uranium mining.
You are probably wondering how this happened.

Uranium prospectors have been descending on the Grand Canyon for a
while now with mining claim after mining claim. The Sierra Club and
its allies filed suit to block any new mining near this national
treasure, while the House Natural Resources Committee used a
little-known and almost never used law to put a three year halt on new
mining near the Grand Canyon. But just last week - after just 15
days of public comment - the Bush administration began preparing
a rule that ends Congress's ability to protect the Grand Canyon
from mining.

Please help us fight back against the Bush Administration's
dangerous "midnight regulations" by joining the Sierra Club today.
