Banner Sizes - In Simple Terms

Your banners MAY be any size, up to and including 600 pixels wide by 125 pixels high (600 x 125 pixels). Banners MUST not exceed 35 Kilobytes in actual file size (memory size).

THEY MUST NOT EXCEED THESE LIMITS

For example:

Height and width configurations of: 350x150, 400x250, 500x180, 350x135, 250x250, etc. These are NOT allowable picture sizes; neither is 39Kb, 65Kb, 42Kb or any other file size (memory size) over the 35Kb limit.

Signature banners of the following example sizes are allowed: 400x117, 260x85, 150x35, 600x120, etc. File size (memory size) of the following example sizes are allowed: 11Kb, 27Kb, 34.99Kb, 35Kb etc.



Why the restrictions? Safesearching plays host to posters from around the world and not every poster is fortunate enough to have high-speed access to the Internet. After much testing, we find this file size and dimension specification to work well for load times from high-speed to dial-up.


This is about being a supportive community and some restrictions are necessary to ensure everyone can participate here equally.
